Q: As a dividend growth investor I'm looking for one more (non-financial) growth company to add to my group that already includes ATD and CNR. I've done a side-by-side comparison of the following three outlining concerns for each:

FSV - Reasonable debt levels. In a recession, perhaps the strongest of the three (?), but always expensive.

SJ - Arguably a bit of a moat, reasonable debt. But by already owning CNR, does it make sense to own a company whose business includes railway ties?

DOO - Great growth, nice dividend growth, and very attractive moat. But what about that debt ?...and in a recession who is going to buy those "toys" ?

Not looking for personal advice, but I would welcome any comments on the concerns I've mentioned. Thanks.

Q: I identified 9 companies that out performed the TSX 60 plus 3 energy companies that I believe have a bright future. All 12 failed the MACD. 5 are trading at double digit discounts to their 52 week highs; dsg,shop,l,tou and cve. P/E range from 85 to 6 etc, etc. Please pick your diversified top 6 for a 5 year hold, with consistent profitability, no crazy volatility and suggest a great entry price. Thank you

Q: These 9 companies are the holdings in a growth oriented Canadian TFSA. The intent was for them to be long-term holds. However, NVEI, ILLM and LSPD are all down over 50% and some so rejigging is being considered.

Would you consider any of them to be a SELL?

Of the 9, which 2 would you be least inclined to keep in the portfolio and why? Please suggest potential replacements.

Q: Hi - for the above companies, how would you expect them to perform in a recession? Do you expect them to have positive alpha? If not these, could you list a few companies that you would be inclined to buy heading into a recession? (ignoring factors like diversification, personal risk etc etc.).

Q: What small to mid cap companies can you recommend that have been beaten up due to market conditions but have a high chance of success long term? Looking at a potential entry point this year with the prospect of beating out the returns of larger cap names that may be in a similar situation. Q: I have REAL in both my TSFA and non-registered accounts. I would like to get rid of it from my non-registered account. Could you suggest a replacement (I do not plan to repurchase it? Do you suggest selling it from the TFSA or waiting for it to turn around a bit?
