Q: Can you suggest public traded companies that focus on restoration after environmental events (i.e. fires, hurricanes and floods)?

Q: The media occasionally references buying "Dogs of the Dow". Do you know if any comparative analysis has been done of the better Dow stocks which may be termed "Stars of the Dow"? If so, is there any guidance to be suggested? I think 5i favours buying "winners" rather than "losers". Thank you for your always well-reasoned comments.

Q: Hi 5iresearch
I am in a loss position with the above stocks. They represent a very small size of my portfolio. Which ones would have a good chance for recovery in the next 12 months? I am trying to determine which ones I should sell to allocate to other shares with better chances. You can give %s for their recovery in the next 12 months.
Thank you

Q: I have a significant amount of cash to invest. I would like to allocate to some very high-quality stocks across various industries that can be bought and held for a long period of time so they can compound. If you could pick 10 companies that meet this criteria, what would they be? I was thinking about BAM, MSFT, V, COST, CP, UNH, HD, JNJ, GOOG, BRK.b but am open to suggestions or changes to this list. No banks or energy please.

Q: First thanks for the swift turnaround response for ADBE, yesterday.
Now my focus is on Consumer Discretionary stock positions. I hold Canadian positions in ATD, BYD, DOL and PLC and then for the US, AMZN and HD.
For the Cdn positions, all exceed the target weightings. But for AMZN, which I recently added to, the portfolio for this stock is underweight by 1.2% and for HD, underweight by 1.3%.
At this time, the total CD sector portfolio weighting is  13.5% compared to a target of 10% but me, comfortable going overweight this sector as I shy away from energy and materials.
I'm inclined to add to Home Depot next. What are your thoughts about adding to HD, especially looking forward to a brighter horizon?
Another one is ATZ which I have held in the past. Wondering about buying ATZ in the near term or wait awhile???
If there are other companies in the CD or Cyclic sector that you think I should consider for the brighter future, I'd be pleased to know about them.........Much thanks..............Tom

Q: Morning 5i team, thanks for all the great advice you supply to the members.
I have $50K to invest and would like your advice. This is what I’m currently holding in my non registered account.

Canada
AC, BYD, GSY, LSPD, SHOP, TDB3098, TOI
US
AAPL, SQ, CRWD, CSX, ETSY, MA, MSFT, NVDA, PYPL, UXI, ROBO, U

Considering my high exposure to Tech and your last market update, I might need to consider more consumer cyclical and financial stocks as well as others to balance the portfolio. I’m looking to have a mix of growth and value holdings.

I would appreciate your recommendations on new Canadian or US acquisitions and possible entry points. Can you recommend one of two of the US Tech stocks to sell and replace it with GOOG.

Please take as many credits a you see fit.

Thanks
Joe

Q: When you call them an expensive sector that is not so safe for investing until investors re-consider the valuations. When you compare their PE'S with what is being held in the growth portfolio i have to call this the expensive sector and maybe not so safe sector. I feel this market is not that safe until, inflation is under control, interest rates finish rising, covid is under control in China, supply chain issues are fixed, high oil prices, and the war in Russia. The market cannot fight all of the above.

Q: Hi 5i,

I was looking forward to the US part of the answer to Aleem’s recent question.

Specifically, can I get your two top US picks for each of consumer cyclical, consumer defensive and industrials based on current valuation and long-term growth.

Thanks as always,

Kevin
