Q: Hi,
I have held both MFI and TOY for several years now. Much to my surprise both popped today from earnings. I am thinking about selling both of these to switch into NVEI (after their earnings next week).
I get that none of these companies are comparable on any metric-but I am interested in your viewpoint of selling stocks that have upward momentum to buy into a stock that currently has downward momentum.
Thanks,
Brad

Q: When REITs have dispositions during the year does it prompt year-end special distributions?
How often does this happen.?
I saw a note about AX.UN maybe doing a distribution because new management sold all that valuable industrial property (a mistake in my opinion).
Is it mandatory?
When and why do shareholders get the bonus?

Q: HI
I am woefully low in real estate and notice you have only 1 REIT in your three model portfolios combined albeit an equal weight REIT but your total real estate sector allocation would still be low. Are you bearish on real estate?
What if any real estate stocks do you like or would you still just favor ZRE for diversification for an RRSP holding? What would you suggest for real estate sector allocation percentage?

Q: "We are not tax experts, but it is generally wise for dual citizens to avoid TFSAs" This was your response to an Oct 25 question. I have been contributing to a TFSA since they started in 2009 with limits soon to exceed $80,000. There is some paperwork required as the Americans consider TFSAs a 'foreign trust' rather than a self funded, self directed investment vehicle. The paperwork time is worth the investment advantage. Some general guidance from US tax accountants would be beneficial to your subscribers with dual citizenship and those filing US tax forms. I use RLB with offices in KW/Guelph (Jeff Hood is the US tax person)

Q: Hi Peter,
Upon reviewing the quarterly results, I am surprised at the irrationality of the market.
Growth is still intact as far as I can see. The only "issue " that I can see might be the weak guidance for next quarter. However, the full year guidance has been raised.
Am I missing something?
Thanks,

TD Webbroker has a feature called Advance Dashboard.
Before I sign up I wanted to know how useful it is for a long term investor and not a day trader. So when buying or selling a stock it would be helpful to see how many buy or sell lots and there volume were lined up...if you know what I mean. Your thoughts please! Thank you!
