Q: Would appreciate a couple of options for holding some U. S. $$ in a taxable investment account for at least one year. I am more interested in capital appreciation than in current .income in these interesting times. Sector not an issue. Could be individual securities or ETFs. Thanks for your continuing support. Bill

Q: Looking to invest a portion of available cash into solid smallish-cap companies that have yet to move towards their fair value that could be reached in a more positive part of the cycle - which I am guessing/assuming is coming. Please provide suggestion in either Canadian and/or US markets.

Q: Hello, Hammond Power stock has been so strong ( $52 to $82 ), within a span of less than 2 months. We have a very small 0.60% position, started around $57. Based on your favourable view and analysts' commentary, we want to build the position up to at least 1.5 - 2%. Recently stock has traded in $78-$82 range. Would it make sense to start accumulating in $75-78 range, or wait until next quarter ? Market strategists believe that small cap stocks have a lot of room to catch up. We are just a little concerned with HPS.a stock's incredible 200% + rise, this year and a possibility of stock to falter, for any reason. Thank You

Q: Hi 5i,
In an otherwise balanced portfolio, I'm looking for some ideas for my TFSA.
Current holdings are KXS, LULU, HPS AND ATS.

I'm open to adding to the above names but was wondering if you
could you please recommend 10 Canadian and 10 US stocks that you feel would work well in a TFSA at this time in the market.

Q: I have seen several analysts commenting recently on how undervalued small cap stocks are compared to larger cap stocks. Some saying we are at the cheapest levels they have ever seen for small caps. If you were to put together a portfolio of 10-12 Canadian small cap stocks intending to benefit from a return to more typical valuations, which stocks would you include? Not thinking about highest risk types, like early phase biotech, exploration stage mining companies, but rather, for high quality, profitable, growing businesses.

Q: Hello, I have some money to deploy and have picked the above lucky 13 stocks. Are you able to put them in order in which you would purchase them (1 to 13). I know there is a wide range of companies, industries and cap size. This would be in a cash account and looking for capital gains over the next 3 years. I'm okay with lots of risk in this account.

Q: Industrials 12% target allocation - what allocation do you advise? I have Full positions in WSP VRT and Partial Positions in ATS TFII HEI and AXON. Based on your advice, I would also like to have positions in URI HON TRI TIH HPS.A. Need to sort out what to own as Full and partial positions. Q: I bought GSY at its peak. Is it time to dollar cost average now or would you wait for the price to drop more?

How do you see the stock price move if interest rates stay stable until mid 2024?

Q: Reading through the questions and answers on a regular basis gives a good idea of a lot of the Canadian companies you favour as investments, such as CSU/LMN/TOI, GSY, SHOP, BN/BAM, SU/CNQ/TOU, WSP, TFII, SLF, ATD, BYD, TRI. I'm wondering if you have any seldom discussed Canadian stocks that you like, small cap, higher risk stocks OK. Some names that people might not be as familiar with that have some good upside potential. Companies producing good financial results that perhaps aren't fully recognized in the stock market.
