Q: I hold SIS in a cash account and am up 4.5%. Considering selling it to purchase either EIF or AW.UN. Given my quest for solid dividends along with some growth and moderate risk - balanced with my aversion to paying capital gains tax - which course of action would you suggest and why? (Mindful of one of your favourite quotes about the stock market being a device to transfer money from the impatient to the patient...) Thank you

Q: I've been looking at my allocations and am very low in consumer defensive, consumer cyclical and materials. Could you give me some recommendations for companies in these areas that give a 3.5%div or more. For US and Canada. Ones that you would consider now a good time to buy. Thank you.

Q: I've read recently that digitalization has transformed MCD, and vastly improved margins in the process. I've also been reading how in general, robotics and automation is starting to get a toe-hold in some fast food restaurants.

This is asking a bit about looking into your crystal ball but do you see some similar positive transformation in either QSR and / or AW.UN in the future ?

I've also noticed that in recent responses to questions that you see value in these two names. I think QSR's P/E is about 21 which seems a bit on the high side. Is it ?

How well do companies like this do in a recession? One would think people would not have the extra cash to go eat at restaurants in that environment.

Q: Good morning. I watched your interview with Kornel Szejber from Build Wealth Canada. On it you discussed immunization which was most helpful. You also mentioned that you thought of CNR and CP as set it and forget it stocks. With that train of thought in mind which other canadian dividend stocks would you put in this same category? If I was to purchase 10 dividend stocks to take advantage of the dividend tax credit in my non registered acct which would be my main source of income which stocks should I consider.
Thanks
Victoria

Q: Can you provide a 'buy' list for a person wanting to deploy $200,000 (inside RRSP) with the goal of creating 5% or more sustained cash flow - as well as growing the original capital to keep up with inflatiion? We do not have company pensions - this would serve to supplement our government pensions.
Thinking, 20 stocks across all sectors @ $10,000 each (or 5%)
Also could you include 10 growth stocks (inside TFSA) for a total of $250,000 - gotta have some fun ;)
Many Thanks
Jan

Q: My son has saved up for a bit and has a decent amount of capital for his age. He has a TFSA but his investments are varied and not the best for a long term portfolio. We recently sat down and planned out a long term portfolio that would less risky for long term holdings. Would you guys change/swap, remove or add any from this portfolio of Canadian Stocks? TD, MG, BAM.A, ENB, SLF, FSV, T, FTS, CNR and TRI. Is the market also in a comfortable position to currently make a large investment of capital? Thanks.
