Q: I need to free up some cash in an un-registered account for a large purchase. Which of the above holdings have the worst outlook. So I guess rank in order you would sell them. I will likely need to sell 2 of them. I don't hate any of them but something needs to go to free up the cash.

Q: I hold SIS in a cash account and am up 4.5%. Considering selling it to purchase either EIF or AW.UN. Given my quest for solid dividends along with some growth and moderate risk - balanced with my aversion to paying capital gains tax - which course of action would you suggest and why? (Mindful of one of your favourite quotes about the stock market being a device to transfer money from the impatient to the patient...) Thank you

Q: I am working to balance out my portfolio; being low in both Consumer cyclical and defensive names. The objective for one purchase is income /modest growth and CTC.A is of interest. It appears (still) in a number of income lists, has a sporadically growing dividend and shows a current dividend of 4.85%. It is down over 22% on the year. I'd appreciate your take on this stock and any insights if you have a worthy competitor for this purchase. Many thanks and a Happy New Year.

Q: I just sold off my Biogen holding and am looking for a replacement within the healthcare sector. I held Biogen for over 3 years and exited with a nice return, but I have to say that I did not enjoy the wild ride and price swings as it seemed to trade solely on its new Alzheimer’s drug advancements and setbacks. So now I am looking to replace it with something a little more stable but still with the expectation of slow and steady growth. What would be your top 1 or 2 picks be today for both the US and Canada that might fit. I already own Savaria and XLV so something besides these.
