Q: Hello Folks:
The oil and gas sector has provided good upside compared to tech and other segments.
Consequently we now have oversize exposure to this sector 20-25% weighting.
In your opinion have we seen most of the upside from this sector and perhaps should move some money elsewhere; particularly CVX, WCP, ARX and Hess? What is your opinion and also of which sectors have most upside?
Thanks for your great service!!!!
brian

Q: Looking ahead to a very tight European natural gas market this winter. Which five Canadian (if any) and US natural gas and LNG companies would see a direct benefit?
Thank you

Q: Hi, we have energy sector exposure through, CNQ,SU,TOU and ENB. There are several reasons for owning the sector through CDN companies, primarily for Dividend Tax credit in the Non Regd accounts and also their relatively lower risk profile and size. We have not invested in US Oil, and Gas/Pipeline companies, except a small holding in XLE.

CNBC guests/traders, frequently recommend the US companies listed in the question and it appears that all these stocks are doing well. ( OXY - with 20% ownership with Warren Buffet }. My question is that, in Canada, do we have Energy companies with similar product/business profiles to these US names. And, if so, for a Balanced 5i Portfolio risk profile investor, is the sector well represented with these four CDN companies ? Current Portfolio Weight: CNQ/SU/TOU: 9% ENB:6% Total-15%.

Thank You

Q: After the large run-up in oil & gas stocks, would now still be a reasonable time to invest in them and, if so, what would be your top 3 picks for dividend plus growth, US and Cdn? Thank you.

Q: Given the possibility of a recession and the certainty of volatility for the next couple years, can you give me 4 CDN and 4 US stocks/etf's, you think might provide some safety and reliable, albeit moderated returns? The equities I've listed are my ideas.

Q: Here in the Maritimes where we have regulated fuel prices, the regulators have found it necessary to substantially raise fuel prices, especially diesel and heating oil, for several days in a row. I am assuming the same is true in the rest of the country. Since crude prices have been somewhat flat recently while distillate inventories have been reported getting tight, is it a good assumption that these higher fuel cost dollars are ending up as crack spread profits to oil refiners? If so can you name your picks of companies that will be benefitting from this?
Thanks
Gary

Q: I have some money in my RRSP and would like to buy some US stocks. Could you recommend your top picks you think are priced to buy now, which gives 3% or more dividend. Also any you would wait on, and what price point you would enter. Thanks so much!

Q: The Canadian energy sector is doing fantastically well. ( Especially mid cap companies like Whitecap). I have some American money I would like to invest and would appreciate, if possible, some suggestions of both American oil and natural gas companies that you think might have considerable upside as we move forward in 2022/2023. Thanks as always for your insight and support.

Q: Hello 5i team:

At this particular time, which ETF do you think worth buying? US based XLE or Canadian based XEG? Is there a ETF based on Europe or the rest of the world?

Will you underweight or overweight energy in one's portfolio? I know in the US energy doesn't play a big role. But in Canadian index, they do.

Thanks in advance.
