Q: Good morning - I need more US exposure as I am overweight Canada. I will need to sell some/all of holdings I have in PBH, L, ATS, TOU, SU and EIF. I hate to sell any of these companies but someone's gotta go to raise cash. Taxes are not an issue. Can you suggest US companies that you would like just as much, which pay dividends and which will keep me in the realms of Industrial, Consumer Discretionary, Energy. Thank you.

Q: You replied to my recent question about cdn companies paying us dividends, I would like same 5i stock screener in us companies. Your criteria was us dividends, top 25 with the largest market capitalization, 12 month trailing dividend yield, 5 yr historical dividend growth rate and anything else you may add, basically buy and forget.

Q: Dear Peter et al:

Can you give me the names of 3 companies each that fulfill these criteria. I tried to "curate" the list by myself by going through 6 months worth of questions on Energy sector but really couldn't compile a decent selection as the questions exhibited significant variance.

Question # 1.

Mid cap oils (not gas)

Good to great free cash flow

FCF well directed to share buy backs, debt reduction and dividend enhancement.

Solid management
(I know this is subjective but I know that you know the players well!)

Showing good momentum and growth prospects.
You can include a small cap if you think it i soon going to be a mid cap.

Question # 2.

Same criteria but in Large cap oils.

Many thanks.

Q: Dear 5i team.
Please explain the differences between these two etfs for O&G exposure. Do you lean more to one vs the other?

The 8 listed CO's you suggested earlier today as a possible DIY version, how would you rank them in terms of risk/reward assuming oil prices stay elevated or increases?
(CNQ SU WCP TVE TOU XOM PSX CVX)

Thanks for your help.

Q: Hi,
In your answer to Jerry today (11-01-24) you had mentioned that you prefer ETFs like XEG and ZEO for the O&G sector play. Thank you.

If I want to avoid MERs and willing to put together a group of large/mid cap oil companies (not Gas) what companies would you recommend? About 5 to 8 names would be fine.

Also, why doesn't HXE as an ETF get the "love and respect" not only from you but from others in the financial media? Is there something inherently wrong with HXE?

Appreciate your response.

Q: May I please get your thoughts on this company and maybe how it compares to other oil companies like suncor/exxon/chevron. It looks like PSX are more concentrated in refining than production. Thanks.

Q: This excellent question was answered by your team on oct 30 th.
"I'm wondering if you could suggest 20 Canadian stocks, with a minimum yield of 3.5%, that you would purchase NOW. This list could include ETFs."
I shall ask a similar question but for only 12 US stocks or ETFs in my TFSA ,the goal being safety+ dividends + some growth ,many thanks

CVX
PSX
TTE
ENB
XOM
DVN

Q: As a TRP dividend investor of 77 years old are the problems with the XL pipeline already baked? As I am a value investor for the most part would you suggest a switch to PPL or other suggestion? I have a 5 - 8 year time frame. I also hold ENB, SU, XOM and CVX as well as NXF as the energy part of my portfolio.

Q: Hi Peter,

You had this qn on Jan. 23, 2023:

My sister wants to invest in 10 Canadian stocks that are relatively safe in terms of capital preservation but which offer possible dividend and growth . Hopefully the stocks would be in different sectors that you would recommend.

Now, for a 5 yr + time period, what 11 US quality stock from each sector would you recommend ?

Please deduct as many credits as necessary.

Thanks a million.

Q: Hi, I am in the camp that fossil fuel industry will be a place to be in 2023. With that said do you feel it is better to be in a fund such as NNRG or XLE or to be in individual companies either CDN or US? If so, can you give a few with some good dividends that you would recommend to look at. Thanks
