Q: What would be your top picks for dividend stocks that are trading currently at good discounts and have a great recovery potential-across all segments US and Canada? One group making 3.5% or higher; one group 2-3% but have more growth opportunity? Thanks.

Q: Hi guys,

Wondering your thoughts on truck based shippers like tfi and ups as compared to railways? With a 5+ year time horizon, what has a likely higher rate of return overall and success probability with the economy ahead?
Thoughts on whether to invest now at all versus waiting 1 to 3 months for more earning to sink in?
Thanks
Peter

Q: Given the move to more online shopping I would think that delivery services should be the beneficiaries .
Would UPS and FDX be your first choices in the sector or are there others that you think would to be better.

Q: Hello -

Being aware that you don't necessarily cover US stocks to any great extent, are you able to tell me what UPS's valuation is compared to it's past, on metrics you find useful?

Is debt concerning to you for this type of industry?

This company's stock has dropped off a lot - likely some to do with current market conditions and partly with Amazon supposedly taking over this industry, and the rest of the world while they're at it :)

Thanks.

Jim

Q: I have CNR and TFII for transportation and shipping on the Canadian side of my portfolio. I would like to diversify into US and was thinking of FDX or UPS. Which of the US would you prefer at this time. How is the labour situation at UPS compared with the labour situation at FDX?
Thank you!
Albert

Q: Greetings 5i,

As a generally conservative investor with a long time horizon (I am 36), I am very partial to "less exciting" blue chip stocks with a high potential for long-term stability. And while I am in no rush to add any single positions at this time, I would like to ask your opinion of two large cap names to augment my research. Please feel free to deduct as many credits as you deem appropriate.

Could I please have your opinion on UPS and MMM as potential "buy and hold" names for a long-term time frame?

Thank you.

Q: Morning 5i
I know Amazon has caused some downward pressure on FDX and UPS of late but I'm thinking if Amazon gets into this business it will likely take years in developing the logistics and infrastructure meaning that FDX and UPS will have to be relied upon for at least several more years .As an essential service they're businesses should still thrive still with solid earnings . Both stocks seem to be doing ok recently as well .
Would you have any issues in investing in either of these two stocks at this time .
Thanks
Bill C

Q: Hi there,

I am looking to add a company in transportation to my portfolio. On all metrics TFII seems cheaper on a valuation basis than the others. Any reasons you would prefer my other options and why?
