Q: I am looking to take a small position in semiconductors and noticed your response on ranking QCOM, AMD, MU and NVDA (and liking all of them). Would one of the above ETFs be a reasonable means of participating in the sector? Your thoughts and suggested recommendation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Q: In less then a month I am up 50% on Twitter. As a result Twitter is now 5% of my portfolio. Similar story with AT.TO, up 90% and just over 5% of the portfolio. I am thinking of trimming Twitter (25%)and significantly trimming AT (50%) before q results. Money to be used for ICHR, what weighing would you start with or is it better to go with SOXX at 5%? I believe I need a position in this sector given current/future demand.

Don't you think AC stock is getting ahead of the reality and air canada path back to business will not be as smooth as the stock is indicating? Or are the investors looking 2 years ahead and are willing to discount any turbulence? Is that the strategy here?

Q: Good afternoon 5i,

As a more conservative investor but looking for growth. Volatility no problem and some risk ok.
I don't view these in the same light. 22 year time frame.
I have anchored my portfolio TFSA / RRSP with ETF'S.
VTI, QQQ, XIT, VEE
The TSX are blue-chip dividend stocks for added
stability and ATD.B, BAM.A, GSY, KXS
Could you please rate my prospective ETF'S. Which would you invest in for this time frame and much needed boost for my portfolio. Or one that I missed?

ARKK, SKYY, CLOU, SOXX, SMH, QQQJ

Thank you very much.

Q: Hi 5i,
I am looking for the best options for gaining CAD-denominated exposure to the major companies in the chips/semis space. What might be the best ETF options and what would be their proportion of exposure to that sub-sector? If not ETFs, might there be a more effective way of obtaining the desired exposure while staying in CAD? I’ll mention that I already have positions in PHO and STC, although obviously they are not quite the order of companies I’d be targeting with this question. Thanks!

Q: Hi 5iTeam,
I'm interested in taking a position in an ETF that's focused on chips. Of the three ETFs listed above, which one would be your choice and why?
Also are there ETFs traded in C$ that are focused on US chip makers?
Cheers,

Q: Which Biotech and Semiconductor ETFs would you recommended, in order of preference? I do not have any exposure to these sectors.

Q: Hello 5i!

Appreciate all the great work.
I am looking for a canadian as well as US listed tech ETF. And semi-conductor fund to be held in my RRSP. Diversification and of course hoping for long term growth.
Currently XIT (TFSA). Using the room in RRSP for US listed dividend stocks/ETF's. Or whichever is the most tax and growth efficient.

I'm wondering what your top picks are in that sector and why? One concern of mine is some have a much higher mer. Is that worth the performance in the long run?

Or better bang for your buck on keeping fees low as usual and the most diverse fund. Company and cap wise. Hence holding a primarily large cap and semi conductor. Or just 1 solid all around.

If I'm missing a far better pick please enlighten me.

Thank you for putting together such a great site and program. Info is fantastic.

Q: Greetings,
Currently my tech exposure is coming from XQQ. Analytics is suggesting adding another 2.5%. Should I add more XQQ? Or what do you think of SOXX or RYT? Thanks
