Q: Thanks for your guidance. As we come to end of the year I am looking to book tax loss as I am down substantial on several stocks, including some highly recommended by 5I. My question is in 2 parts

Of the above stocks which one you still have conviction and would recommend buying back after 30 days
Are there any stocks that may move substantially and is advisable to buy proxy or buy the same stock in family members name for the next 30 days

Thanks

Q: I am restructuring a non-registered account to be more defensive, and less tech heavy. All of the following US stocks are down: APPS, OKTA, PYPL, PLTR, SE, TTD, MRVL, TWLO, U, VEEV. Do you consider them a sell or hold?
Thanks.

Q: Morning 5i Team,

Can you please put the following in order of share price appreciation of outperforming in the next 3 years.
Also, would you recommend selling any of the above names and if so what would you replace them with.

Thanks

Q: My daughter opened her first TFSA a few years ago. She is planning on using it to save for retirement, so has a very long time horizon. She has 25% in ZSP (S&P 500 ETF) and 15% in XIT (Canadian technology ETF). Together we chose some fun stocks to complete her portfolio. We are happy with most of our picks – Disney (DIS), Crowdstrike (CRWD), Intuitive Surgical (ISRG), Snowflake (SNOW) and CN Rail (CN). But we are wondering about four – Twilio (TWLO), Etsy (ESTY), Paypal (PYPL) and Upstart (UPST). All have dropped since she bought, but what do you think of the longer term potential of these? Would you swap any out? If so, for what?

Thanks,
Kim

Q: Hello,
I have lost about 55% on qrtea. In your opinion, is there any chance it could recover? Should I sell and invest in something else? if so, any suggestions?
thanks

Q: In other answers I see that you are recommending tax loss selling. My positions in PYPL and ROKU are down about 50% and they're large enough that the tax loss would definitely benefit me. However, I'm worried about selling them because I feel like if the market improves, they could bounce back to the point where my benefit from the tax loss is nullified by the missed bounce until I can re-buy after 30 days. (For reference, if they bounce back to their early April prices, that would outweigh my benefit from the tax loss).

On the other hand, I think both are attractive at today's prices so if I don't sell for a tax loss I would probably add a bit to both positions.

Do you like PYPL and ROKU at today's prices (to add to current positions) or do you think they're better targets for tax-loss selling and re-buying in 30 days?

Q: Hi 5i
Some themes are very hot for a while and then go stone cold. The fintech stocks have all crashed and burned. Do you think this is a buying opportunity on some of these names for the next 3 years or so? Or are there some that you would not buy at all as recovery is doubtful? How would you rank these ones for new purchases?
Thanks.

Q: Down significantly on these names, wondering at these level if you would still hold on for a better market, if so which ones or swap them out for other stocks that are down and may have a better chance to recover.

Q: The above stocks have declined significantly from 2021 highs. I would like to make 2 or 3 purchases from this list. Please remove any you think are unlikely to resume upwards momentum over next 12 months and show the rest in a priority list for purchase consideration from highest priority to lowest for growth or growth/dividend return. Many thanks. Jane Norton
