Q: Hi folks,
I am looking to replace GILD in my TFSA. I currently hold ABBV, LLY, PFE and WELL in other accounts. I am looking for a name that pays a good dividend and has some potential for growth. Can you suggest a couple of names I can take a look at or should I add one of the names I already hold.
Thanks

Q: Further to Rajeev's question ie: the STN offering, how do offerings like this work ? As the price is at a discount to the current price, it seems unfair to existing shareholders. Are they given first opportunity or is it just open to the public ? Why would'nt a big player just buy and then sell the position in the market to skin the difference ? Is there a period that buyers have to hold ? How would an individual participate ? Thank you,
Q: Do you recommend buying shares from the 2.7 mln secondary offering announced for $92.50 ? Thanks

Q: Reading recently one of members question about rating growth and risk of DOO, HPS and MG, how about adding ATS to the list as well which hasn’t behaved well lately. Could you please rate them all together ?
Thanks,

Q: Re: Jean's question about moving loose cash (presumably a smallish amount) out of the TFSA before year's end.
It makes sense to me if in 2024 I intend to make a contribution in-kind from my non-registered account. That extra bit of contribution room will enable me to transfer a greater quantity of stock to my TFSA, thereby putting that loose cash to good use.

Q: Would you recommend adding to my CJ position at this price level? I'm down about 10% at this juncture. If there is no danger of a dividend cut, and if CJ rebounds in 2024 would it be a worthy risk bet? Please advise.
Q: Hi There,

Q: This question was asked by Atchuta on November 20, 2023.
"My wife took early retirement with DB plan. Her RRSP and TFSA are well diversified. She has enough money to invest in about 10 companies. This money is not needed in foreseeable future. However, a small dividend is appreciated along with capital appreciation. It will be invested in a regular account.
Can you please suggest top 12 companies."
What would be your answer if it was an RRSP account instead of a regular account, would you change anything ?
Thank you
Fernando

Q: Can you compare the valuations of Lumine and Topicus please? Thanks
Q: I have 13% of my portfolio in diverse covered calls that hold blue chip companies. I am comfortable with that as I look mainly for income. The portfolio is composed of 30% ETF's including the covered calls and 70% individual stocks (16/56). there are a few growth but mostly dividend paying blue chip many that are repeated in the covered call ETF's. I am 77, and have a defined teacher pension.
Total positions are 56. This seems to suit my needs as I have survived so far with a steady income. Am I making a misake or does this seem a valid plan?

KKR & Co. Inc. (KKR $135.53)
-
BMO International Dividend ETF (ZDI $27.27)
-
Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK.B $499.77)
Q: Hi
Presently own ZDI in our RRSP.
I am thinking of replacing ZDI with KKR & BRK.B.
KKR and BRK.B are bigger and are like an ETF without the fees.
Also in the long run I think KKR and BRK.B it will have better growth than ZDI .
We would be giving up a good dividend with ZDI go.
Thank you.
Mike

Q: Just wondering if your opinion is unchanged. In September you said "At some point it will be so bad it's good". Is it good yet? I could realize the loss now and buy it back next year.
As usual, thanks for your great help.

Q: I just came across this quote within an Economist article:
“If you can earn 12%, maybe 13%, on a really good day in senior secured bank debt, what else do you want to do in life?” Steve Schwarzman, boss of Blackstone, a private-investment firm, recently asked.
Are there any bank bonds that you could suggest that would fit in this category?
