Q: Regardless of sector, please suggest 5 or so each Cdn and US holdings that would expect to average an 8%+ return per year including dividend and capital appreciation (can be company or ETF, but for ETF should consider fee) for 10 year hold. Thank-you!

Q: We are planning to set up a separate investment account for our grandkids. Assume a 10 year hold. There are a few sectors we would want to overweight - 3 stocks, CAD or US, in Financials, Industrials, Technology and 1-2 stocks in the others. What would you look for and how would that translate into individual stock selections.

Q: Hi Team - for my RRSP I have cash for a full position, or 2 partials, and based on portfolio analyzer I am under weight on Utilities and Consumer Defensive. Are conditions decent to enter those areas now, and what would be your top 3 in each area. Bonus points for options that increase global exposure since I’m also needed some international exposure.

Q: Hi I asked this question last week and think it may have slipped through.
I am down 6% on ATD. I am thinking of selling to claim the capital loss but concerned of it popping back up in the short term. Where do you see it going from here? Would you sell and buy back after 30 days or move to something else? What other top 5 CDN or US stock would you consider to replace it in the same sector for a 5 year hold period. Thanks

Q: Hello 5i team,
Welcome your feedback on PKI vs. CNQ and ATD moving forward? I've held PKI on and off for 11 years. I'm sitting with a 9.4% per annum total return and a 25% cap gain on cost. Plenty of drama between hostile shareholders and board. Shares appear dramatically undervalued. When comparing to CNQ and ATD (also holding) I'm considering abandoning PKI and investing proceeds into more CNQ and ATD. Pay the tax and move on reluctantly... Can you share your thoughts on this notional transaction vs. holding on to PKI while still quite "undervalued" to wait/see how the drama plays out or just move on? Thanks for your opinion and all you do.

Q: For a conservative investor and a long-term hold in a TFSA:
a) which has more room to run from current valuations in your opinion, ATD or BEP.
b) If you didn’t need the cash dividends right now, would you invest in BN over BEP.UN to maximise return and mitigate downside risk?

Q: I did appreciate your answer for an equivalent question for US Cies lately...It seems difficult though to find canadian Cies that have long term potential, and financial strength as large US cies..Could you name 5 canadian Cies considered as a " must have" for long term and an entry point ? Q: What is your take on ATD's announced "preliminary" offer for 7-11? The market seemed to not react to this. Some time ago they contemplated a large deal to purchase Total. That was not well received and it eventually did not go forward. If the 7-11 goes ahead, what impact will there be on the share price for ATD? Would they have to take on a lot of debt or issue a large amount of shares? Many thanks
