Q: Happy New Year Everyone. Thanks so much for your much appreciated service. I have $10,000 to deploy in an RESP account for three grandchildren with a 10-15 yr time horizon. What are three new stock ideas along with suggestions on what current stocks I could add to assuming they are equal weightings. Current stocks: AEM, ARX, BN, CSU, ENB, IFC, LMN, RY, TD, TOU, TRI, TVE and WSP. Thanks.

I have a portfolio consisting in a few etf’s and a few stocks for the American side. One of these is a small cap etf. On the Canadian side it have mostly large blue chip stocks. CSU, BNT, etc. These are mostly at the full 5% quota. I keep some of these smaller stocks, I suppose because I enjoy winning. The problem, though, is that I hate losing. I keep the amount of these smaller stocks small because of that fear of losing, I suppose. They are often between one and two per cent of a fairly large portfolio, which is low percentage wise, but still quite high dollar wise. I am an advancing senior with moderate risk profile. Have a modest pension, which allows us mostly to live without touching investments. I have been wondering lately whether I should just bite the bullet, take the risk and add more to these fast growers ( and from time to time, fast losers) or whether I should just sell them all and consolidate in the larger stocks and etf’s. especially since I can say that I have won the game? Perhaps I could keep a few for fun. But, I guess that is what I am doing now. I know that you cannot give personal advice. But, I find that you usually have interesting things to say about these kinds of situations. As well, it has been cathartic and possibly helpful for me just to frame the question.

I have some names in my TFSA account such as ATD, ATX and ENGH (and maybe some others) that are laggers and would like to move out of them and into something with potentially higher returns.
I also own the other names mentioned above.
What are your thoughts and could you recommend 3 to 5 Canadian and/or US names with the reasons and entry points.
also own NVDA that has grown to a huge percentage of the account.
I know that I should sell some but it has been such a great performer.

Q: hi, I am down on all these names. I am considering adding to (some of?) them. I am looking for some growth in share price ( to match or beat inflation ) and a consistent growing dividend ( matching or beating inflation ). I also don't want to end up with another AQN or BCE scenario. could you kindly give us your advice on these names and include your thoughts on whether they are a buy (add to ), sell, or hold please.

Q: I'm looking to close a gap in my non-registered portfolio in the Industrial Sector. I'm not too concerned about industry. I'm looking for some reasonably priced options that you guys like that have good growth potential, but also pay a (growing) dividend. My intention is a long-term buy and hold. Would you please recommend your top 3 Cdn and top 3 US "likes" and rank order purchase preference from 1 to 6 (with 1 being your top pick) and any rationale for your choices that you think might be helpful to my decision making process. Q: I am looking at swapping out CNR for TRI. as I believe TRI may be less sensitive to the economy. What is the long term (5-10 yr) growth outlook for these 2 companies and do you prefer one company over the other. Thanks

Q: Over the past 5 yrs these stocks have done quite well - thank you. (Except BYD).

My portfolio has grown but these are small % and need a top up to have a meaningful impact.

Looking ahead 3-5 yrs could you rank these on moat strength and which would be best to buy now?
