Q: Hi, I noted that you decided to sell full position in TCL.a from 5i portfolios, after owning for several years. CCL.b is still held in the Balanced 5i Portfolio, with a full position. We sold our CCL.b and TCL.a positions many years ago and switched to RPI.un. The move served us well initially but for past 12-18 months, Richards Packaging unit price has continued to decline precipitously and is near all time lows. It appears that COVID period growth has fizzled and it might take much longer for the company to digest the large Clarion Medical acquisition and the resultant debt load. Company has also guided lower for past few quarters. Although they have been paying dividend 0.11 monthly for many years, but market seems to be expecting declining growth for a while. I am wondering if you notice signs that RPI is heading into a similar direction as TCL.a. Recession fears certainly are not helping. Would it be prudent to not be mesmerized with the 3% dividend and move on, so funds could be available for better Income/Growth opportunities ? Thank You

Q: I follow your Model Portfolio and want to add CDR Stocks - (AAPL, NVDA, GOOG, AMZN, META, DIS, and V) since I want to keep 25 stocks. Which one would you suggest selling from Balance Equity Portfolio and replacing it with 7 CDR stocks?

Thanks for the great service

Q: Hi, These two companies, which are leaders in the packaging industry ,and enjoy a positive view with 5i, have seen their share prices perform quite differently. Over a 5 years period, RPI has outperformed CCL.b significantly, but during past 12 months and more recently, CCL stock has shown signs of steady comeback, while RPI price continues to languish at 50% below its peak of $85, reached in Oct, 2020. We are aware that two companies operate in different segments of packaging sector and while CCL has a larger geographical reach, RPI's operates in North America, primarily. We used to own CCL.b few years ago, but sold our position and replaced with RPI units, about 3-4 years ago. Could you make a comparison of the two companies, with respect to their size, leverage/debt, business/growth prospects, insider ownership, current valuation and risk to assess, how they compare/rank on these metrics and the reasoning. Also today if you own them, what will be the objective - Income or Growth or Both for each. Thank You

Q: Hi there, I am a big fan of your Balanced Equity Portfolio. I like the more growth oriented names in it and was wondering if you were to swap out the less growth names for names that have a little more risk but for higher return, which would you swap and for what names? Thanks!

Hi 5i,
I'm looking to make the material sector within my portfolio better. Can you please help me by ranking these companies for me and maybe let me know if something isn't needed or something should be added to give strength and diversification. Truly appreciate your service.
Regards

Q: Good morning Peter, Ryan, and Team,

In our combined accounts, we are overweight in the Consumer Cyclical sector, and hold ATD, BYD, CCL.B, and MG. These stocks have been held for some time, so we have reasonable profits in all four.

In order to raise cash for our under-represented energy sector, please rank the four Consumer Cyclical stocks in order of the first to sell or reduce.

Our Energy holdings include ENB, TOU, and TVE. Please suggest three or four stocks in this sector that would be complimentary to the three already held.

Please deduct as many credits as necessary for this somewhat long question, and as always, thanks for your valuable insight.

Q: Hi 5i,

My question concerns CCL. I bought in 2017 just before the 5-1 share split. I am now underwater , not counting dividends for what is approaching a five year hold. I do not dislike the Company, however am concerned that I am holding onto dead weight. While I realize the Company had tremendous growth leading up to the split, it seems that it is now rangebound. Can you offer any reassurance that this phase is consolidation and that there is more growth on the way?

Q: I want to initiate positions in my unregistered investment account, but if I buy all 8 above stocks, each position would be extremely small. (But that is still an option.) Considering thoughts on inflation and interest rates, could you put these in order of priority for purchase now. These positions would primarily be for safety, with a bit of income, which is non-essential, and some growth, which is also not essential. Just looking for your confidence level of these as companies for the longish term.

Q: Hello,
I have relatively small positions in these names. Would you add to all 3 names (ignoring sectors and sizes) or which name would you add to if not all 3? Long term investment. Thank you for the great service!
