Q: I will have to raise cash by December 30th for a mandatory RIF withdrawal. I will sell from this group of stocks. I assume it is better to retain the stocks with the highest growth potential. So in what order would you sell?

Thanks for all you folks do. You keep me a confident DIY investor... especially during troubled times.

Q: I'm hearing more and more about a looming global food crisis, largely due to the unfortunate situation in Ukraine and its impact on grain shipments. Apart from fertilizer companies, what other options do you feel would be good expressions for a global food shortage investment thesis?

Q: Hi Peter,

It looks like capitulation is nearing. There isn't anywhere to hide anymore.

Would you wait for further drops in WMT, TGT, COST, L, and PBM or is it a good time to jump in on some or all of the these names?

Can you rank the stocks in order of preference for a 3-5 year or more hold in an RRSP? Would you purchase any of the stocks for a TFSA at this time?

Thank you
Debbie and Jerry

Q: Please recommend, especially during this uncertain economic times, two to three Consumer Staple stocks to hold, again for longer than 5 years. My aim is 5 % yield but I do understand that yields for good quality companies are usually low. I would be happy to invest in those with really strong growth down the road. This is what I have compiled with: NWC, PBH, ATD, EMP.a, L, MRU. By all means, please include ones that you feel would serve this purpose.
Thank you again for your insight. Roger

I am in the process of tweaking my portfolios in case we have a recession or we go into a bear market. I am thinking of selling CTC.A MCD and WSP and buying COST, DOL, L and adding to ATD. Your opinion is greatly appreciated.

Q: Hello Peter,

I am thinking of trimming CVS in half back to 5% of my portfolio and switching to one of these 3: Walgreens, Loblaws or Metro.

Your thought, please. Thank you!

Q: What do you suggest in Food , Fertilizer and
Material stocks? I am looking at"beefing" up in those three areas as a protection for the present high inflation.

Q: I hate the idea of losing money in a TFSA for a number of reasons that are probably best dealt with in therapy. However, let’s say that we knew for a certainty that we were going to have a recession of unknown depth and duration starting in 2023. Come 2025 do you think you would have sooner held BCE, SLF, ENB, BAM.A, SMU.UN, and L (maybe 4% average yield with avg. PE in low 20’s) in a TFSA, or a 2 year GIC at 3%? Seems to me if a recession is deeper and longer than average I’m glad I had the GIC, if shallower and shorter, the equities?

Q: Could you rate these 3 companies for me best first and which would be best to add at this time. I believe they have all moved up recently and am wondering if I have missed the boat. Do you have an alternate choice? Should I add one position or 2 half positions.

Thanks again for your support and wisdom.
