Q: As a follow up to my last question on PINS, what names do you think are most attractive on this tech selloff considering a mix of quality/growth (like a middle ground of ones that been seemingly oversold but also are quality names that can weather a storm).

Would PINS be high on that list? What are 3 others? Any info on their valuations/growth prospects is appreciated!

Thank you!

Q: Re your response to John, January 17th, you answered "it's hard to beat a single great company that compounds year after year".
Could you please recommend 5 Canadian and 5 US companies that fit into said catagory that have declined recently due to the tech sell off, and represent a good buy/nibble point,
Please include a mix of larger e.g CSU and Google, along with more recent up and comers e.g. Shop and Roku, which seem to be among your most obvious favourites.
Thanks Peter.

Q: For the aggressive part of my portfolio I have 1 to 2 percent positions in TTd, crwd and unity. You mentioned these are still expensive and I was wondering about taking that 5 percent and allocating it to shopify now that it has been cut in half and it’s PE is in the 30’s? Could we still see the possibility for significant drawdowns on Veev and apps, or could one or both of those be options for a less aggressive play for some of that money as well? There always is the option to do nothing with the rest of my portfolio being balanced. These moves would all have no tax consequences being part of a registered plan. Thx as always

Q: Hi Team,
I am an aggressive investor, which paid off lovely in 2020, but now am being crushed. I hold the following stocks (with weightings in brackets) in total in my brokerage accounts. Could you have a quick look and tell me how this basket looks "In general"? And if you see this basket doing well over the longer term (say 5-10yr hold), pointing out any suggested changes you would make, if any are "sells" or worth switching out. Note that if I sell any GSY it would incur tax (the weighting is large because the position has grown and have been a firm believer in the company as its valuation still looks cheap and am collecting a nice div off it as well). I am 42yrs old so retirement is a ways away and my goal is maximum returns with reasonable risk until retirement. Please deduct credits as required. Thanks
ATZ(3.2%)DOO(1.3%),GSY(24.7%),NVEI(6.3%),TOI(8.6%),WCP(2.8%),SQ(3.5%),APPS(2.5%),RBLX(2.7%),BAM.A(1.7%),LSPD(3%),FB(8.2%),TTD(2.9%),U(2.2%),ABNB(2.4%),CRWD(2.4%),NVDA(6%),PINS(1.7%),CRM(2.9%),NOW(2.7%),SWKS(1.7%),TWLO(2.4%),VEEV(1.4%)WELL(2.5%).

Q: I get that there is money moving out of growth (tech) and into other areas of the market. However, all the mentioned names here have CAGR of > 25% amongst other great fundamentals (free cash flow, equity,...). So long as fundamentals don't change, I can't see any reason to sell - only to add to these names on this opportunity. So long as business grows (and >25% is huge!) all these should be winners in the long term, no?

I've experienced significant whiplash with most of these stocks but am optimistic that with a longer timeline I should be okay.

I'm hoping for two things in your response:
1. Giving me comfort that my thinking is correct and if I hold on I should be okay, and;
2. Of the list, the one stock you would add to today.

Thx for the comfort,

Cam.

Q: In your opinion, is it too late to get out of the higher valuation stocks like SHOP, CROWD, UNITY, APPS, CELH etc.? With 3-4 rate hikes coming possibly, would I be better off in the lower multiples like banks? Or is most of the damage already done?

Q: Hi 5i and Happy New Year!

I hold the above noted stocks/ETF in a TFSA.
The only 2 that are above water are Nanoxplore (GRA:CA) and PayPal (PYPL:US).
Question 1). Which would you recommend keeping?
Question 2). Which would you recommend selling?
Question 3). With ESG values in mind, what would be your top 3 CAD stocks and top 3 US stocks for this year's $6000 TFSA contribution?

Thanks for all that you do!

Q: Please ignore if this has been asked by others, but let's say Mr. X challenges you to the same competition but for US stocks, and this time he let's you pick first. What are your picks?

Q: The above mentioned companies make up my US portion of my companies for a buy and hold retired growth investor. Given that they are evenly held, not well diversified and weighted to tech, Looking forward to 2022 do any of these cause any concern to you. NIO and UCTT have been underperforming the most. Would you trim or remove any of these?

Q: Thanks for the great services and very meaningful insights. I had asked this questions 2 days ago not sure if t was received by your team as I didn't see a response. I am a long term Investor. Normally I don't trade but want to try out the Tax loss strategy . Planning to Invest about $25k in 4 to 5 US or Canadian stocks which are oversold due to tax loss claims. Planning to buy this week and sell them in Q1 2022. What are your strongest convictions/ recommendation on this strategy at the current level. Can you please provide a few names that you have the most conviction in(Not necessarily the most upside)? Please rank them, provide a suggested price and the reason for your strong conviction.

Thanks and Wish a very Happy Holidays to everyone at 5I team.
