Q: Hello!
Wanting to increase foreign exposure and wondering if now would still be a good time to enter any of these names. Since China appears to have Covid more under control is this a good place to invest especially in consumer discretionary. If entering these names does one wait for pullback or enter now. As well, is it better to go with a mutual fund as opposed to ETFs for international/emerging market exposure?

Q: In Peter's article I saw in the FP or a newspaper somewhere, he mentions perhaps looking at the energy sector.

What are some top Energy names to play a economic upturn, and/or contrarian, beaten up strategy?

Q: Understanding that time in the market , not timing the market is best approach to long-term gains. And that one should never try to "wait for, or guess, the bottom" to pick up solid stocks, humour me with this scenario -> COVID-19 is gone tomorrow! Albeit with somewhat new reality. But it's effectively off the table as a criteria or condition for stock selection. What are your top 3 industries, and individual names in each industry you'd be rushing out to buy? Feel free to add more than 3 industries and names. I have always been a fan of Info Tech (software) so you can exclude this as I strongly believe that trend is always positive. Thanks.

Q: Retired dividend-income investor. I am a little light in the Consumer sector. I already own PBH, NWC and PLC with "full" positions relative to their individual risk level, as well as consumer stocks held within various ETFs (ZLB, CDZ, ZWC). I save a full 5% position for blue-chip stocks, like RY, FTS, BCE.

I started looking into the above stocks (AW, CTC, LNF, MG, PRMW, QSR), but filtered it down to a choice of LNF vs PRMW, using both fundamentals and technicals as well as considering my current holdings.

Q#1 = Based on PBH, NWC and PLC being long term holds, do you agree that 2 food companies are enough => I should select a non-food consumer, right?

Q#2 = If I had to choose between LNF and PRMW today, I am leaning towards LNF (better P/B, P/CF, P/S, ROE...better dividend too). So, in my opinion, I think it shows better value. Do you agree? Which shows better upside (I only see 1 analyst on LNF with a target of $17.00)?

Q#3 = Are there other Consumer stocks I should consider? Or, in your opinion, are any of the 5 stocks mentioned above deserve consideration?

Bottom line = where would you put your money?

Q: It appears that SJ has been buying back shares in Sept and Oct. Is this normal or usual for SJ? Obviously when a company does this they think the stock is undervalued and it's best use of capital.

I hold SMU (up 100%) and NWH (up 40%). COLD, however, has come up as recommended from a few places I get my ideas from and I'm considering initiating a position in it. To free up some funds I need to dump either SU or NWH and am curious which one you would exit and why? I'm more interested in capital growth than dividend and generally hold mid-long term.

I have three DOGS in my non registered account ...... Baylin Technologies (BYL) with No Dividend, Cipher Pharma (CPH) with No Dividend and Pason Systems (PSI) that has a 3.5% Dividend.
Please analyze each account for future growth prospects, survivability etc.
My strategy is to double-down and buy more of each stock in my wife's non registered account during tax loss season because her income is very low ......... then wait 30 days and sell the above stocks after 30 days in my registered account either this year or next year.

With the media and other financial write ups all talking about this great sector rotation out of growth and tech stocks into value stocks seems a little over blown to my logical mind.
Its made to sound that stocks , in the "Packaged software " sector like
-LSPD, DND, REAL, NVEI ,VEEV etc are part of that big rotation.
When I think about this, I beg to differ and am of the opinion that these stocks will become even more relevant in the future of our economy irrespective of Covid.
Have I lost my "marbles" or being too naive to think that way?
