Q: Just finished the book '100-baggers'. As a buy and hold guy, the 'coffee can portfolio' approach is relatable. If you guys could purchase 10 Canadian stocks to not touch for the next 5-10 years which stocks would you include? Thanks.
Q: Given the prevalence of most major retailers aligning themselves with pay-now, pay-later providers do you see this as having a negative impact on Goeasy's competitive position in their marketplace?
Q: How would you compare these two. Which would you prefer for growth and stability
Do you have any other suggestions?
Thank you.

Q: Does the Affirm/Amazon arrangement have any implications for GSY. I wonder if you could explain in a bit more detail the current relationship between GSY and Affirm, and add some colour to what the future might hold for these relationships.

Q: Good Morning,
I would like your opinion on when GSY might be considered an addition to the Balanced portfolio? Is it a matter of sector weighting that would preclude its inclusion? It seems to be a perfect stock for the folio. Growth and a growing dividend.
Sorry for putting the team on the spot!
It’s horrible having made so many prescient selections that subscribers are reduced to questions like this one. Lol

Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: Hi Peter/Ryan based on having limited funds which company would you choose today for a TFSA GSY, or NVEI. Thanks Nick
Q: I keep watching GSY increasing and was looking for an entry position and it is currently around $191. I like the company and you can't argue with its performance over the index over the past 10 years. The EV/EBITDA is around 11.3 and Earnings Yield 7% but P/B is over 4 and P/CF is around 26 which is a bit high. Most of the analysts I've seen have it at an upper estimate of around $205 and Fair Value anywhere from $169 to $194. Still a good entry point and would you think that their historical performance would likely continue? Thanks for your input and just to say I find your site very informative and recommend it to others. Cheers.
Q: I'm down about 34% on REAL in a registered account. I initially bought with a 5 year time frame in mind. What catalysts can you think of that might be a positive for the stock price? How likely are these to occur over the next year or two? With my time frame in mind, would you advise selling and moving on?
Q: Hello 5i,
Today (Aug. 25) Ross Healy mentioned that GSY is rapidly approaching both a Fundamental and a Technical inflection point at somewhere around $205.00 +/-.
As a conservative, dividend -oriented investor, GSY is almost at a 5.50% Portfolio Weighting as per P/A. I would like to reduce to around 4.0% but was thinking of holding off until it reaches the 6.0% threshold which would mean holding out for around $225.00+/-. So, my question is: in your considered opinion should I just proceed and re-balance now, or try and hold out for 6.0%?
This is in my TFSA and there are no tax implications nor are there any compelling time-frame issues so waiting is not really an issue other than opportunity cost regarding the re-deployment of the proceeds.
Many thanks for any insight you can provide.
Cheers,
Mike

Q: We are looking to create a 'growth' portfolio using our TFSA accounts. This portfolio will represent a small portion of our overall investments. The portfolio will hold ~10 Canadian and ~10 US stocks. All purchases in the portfolio will be made with the intent to be long-term holds (10+ years).
Using the 5i research reports, model portfolios and Q&A section, we've selected the listed Canadian stocks. Please rank these stocks and suggest any tweaks, additions or subtractions, you might make. As well, please suggest a companion list of US stocks. Thanks!

Q: Goeasy's loan book has grown from $30 million to $1.8 billion during the last ten years and is projecting to reach $3 billion by 2023. Given the high interest rates charged by the company (19.99% for home equity loan, 24.99% for auto loan, and 29.99% for personal loan based on their website), it's hard for me to understand how any borrower can afford such a high rate and the sustainability of their business model. Can you please shed some light? What will happen to the company's business when a severe recession hits or housing market crashes?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Q: I have enough money to top up one of my positions and bring it closer to 5%. These are the candidates. I am diversified, but maybe a little tech heavy. I have Topicus at 5% All are in my TFSA, so a growth tilt is appropriate. But I'm stuck in analysis paralysis. Does any one of these jump out at this time as a particularly good candidate to top up. I know you like them all, so I guess it is a bit like picking your favourite child. But go ahead and pick. Your insight will be appreciated, and much better than me flipping a coin.

Q: Earlier this year we created an equal weighted 'balanced' portfolio of 30 Canadian companies in a non-registered account. Most were chosen from companies either covered by a 5i research report or included in a 5i model portfolio. The remainder were chosen, based on the 5i Q&A section, from what appear to be 5i sector favourites. All purchases in the portfolio are made with the intent to be long-term holds (10+ years).
Our intent is to increase our investments in the 30 companies over time. We have recently increased our positions in BIPC and MG. At this time we would like to increase our investments in 10 of the remaining 28 companies. The intent is to increase the remaining 18 in approximately 6 months. Which 10 would you add to today? Please rank them, include a small blurb explaining each choice and indicate an approximate buy price. Thanks!

Q: I have done well with GSY ( thanks very much) and would like to add to my position. What in your opinion would be a good price to add new money?
