Q: I am a conservative investor who would appreciate your recommendations as to the best 5 US stocks/ETFs to own over the next 2-3 years. Dividends are not necessary, however preference is for low risk stock recommendations.

Q: Good Afternoon,
I don't follow the US market that closely, I'm looking for a handful of safer blue chip dividend payers ? Such as AT&T , perhaps you can list a few other names in various sectors you feel are well managed companies with good yield.
Thank-you

Q: Greetings 5i,

I currently hold a full position in BCE, and consider it one of my "core" holdings. Moreover, I very much like the prospects of the telecom sector as a whole, given its (at least in theory) ability to hold up well under adverse economic conditions. Thus, I have been considering adding a position in either AT&T or VZ to diversify my geographical exposure to the sector. I have a fairly long time horizon (I am 36), and am in no great rush, but would, nonetheless, greatly appreciate your insight into each as a long-term "core" addition to a generally conservative portfolio.

Thank you.

Q: I have 2 questions.
I am looking to buy a few / up to 3 high dividend yielding US stocks for an income portfolio. What could you recommend ?
Looking to hold these US dividend stocks for at least 5 years, does the exchange rate and the premium to buy a US stock matter ? Or is that a long enough time horizon to migitate most of the exchange risk . Thank you

Q: I have Student Transportation in my US account. What would be some good US dividend Stocks and/or ETF's I could invest in to replace the lost dividends that I receive when it is sold later this month? I am looking at 3 or 4 stocks and 1 or 2 ETF's.
Thanks for the advice as it is always welcome.

Q: Hello to all at 5i:
Is there some proxy you can suggest to gain an alternative exposure to the telecom sector other than the traditional companies in the space? I own Telus common shares and Bell preferreds and don’t want to increase those positions but am still underweight the sector. I’m really not interested in owning “more of the same” in Canada (RCI.B) and really don’t want Vodofone, AT&T, Verizon or a U.S. telecom ETF (which I think will be largely the latter two companies?). All I really see are slowing revenues and slowing dividends and lackluster share performance. I’m having trouble identifying opportunities that fit my usual investment thesis in this sector. Is there another way to play it that I’m not seeing?
Thanks for your thoughts,

Q: I am interested in an american telecom for RRSP

I was considering Verizon or AT&T

Please provide your thoughts on which one is presently the better buy based on
A. valuation
B. dividend growth
C. earnings

and the magnitude of the difference ( my perception is that the difference is small, but I would appreciate your thoughts.)

I would also be happy to consider any alternatives to these 2 in the telecom sector that you think has better upside. longterm hold.

thanks
