Q: Hi, I'm over 6.5% on these two and want to trim to invest in other small caps. Which one would you trim more, and what are a couple non-financial sector but similar (higher grown potential over the next 2-3 years)? Thank you.

Q: I hold positions in all of these companies and I have some money to put into the market. Could you rate these in terms of which positions you would add to given the potential for total rate of returns given their current stock price, business model tailwinds, risk vs reward etc.
Conversely, if you would rate these as a hold then feel free to mention that as well. Thx.

Q: Hello 5i,
In 2024 I sold my full equity position of GSY not at the top but did well for the multi-year hold (thank you 5i). I started watching for a possible rebuy particularly after the 5i report A-. One of my goals was to create a corporate bond holding portfolio vs a bond etf for a portion of my fixed income %. I noticed GSY has a 5-year 6% coupon with a BB- rating bond on the market. GSY does carry a lot of debt thus if an investor is fine with collecting a 6% return with a stepped-up risk protection profile within the bond world does this make sense? I am assuming in a downturn the bonds will trade down as well but since I have a lot of equity risk already would this make sense? I would plan to hold until full maturity and keep this in a registered account so interest tax is not an issue.

Q: In a recent question on conviction for a 3-5 year hold in the 5i model portfolios you recently ranked these 3 financials lowest. Do you see problems on the horizon that would limit your enthusiasm for ranking them higher?

Q: Hello all,
I am helping aid my young adult children in developing a portfolio of strong companies that pay a dividend. They were not comfortable buying during the VIX 30-50 range so they have not benefited from the recent rebound.
They are looking at holding any of these positions for 5 years (when they may need to liquidate a bit for a down payment on a property)
Please note, the American equities would be CDRs and hedged.
Here are my questions:
What entry point/range would you be comfortable buying any of these securities listed?
Do you recommend half positions in any of them at this time? Please list.
Taking into account the time frame, are there any companies you would recommend not buying?
Are there any sectors (with a particular security) which perhaps I should consider that is not on my list?
Please mention if there are other securities that might be better in satisfying the stated objective.
Do you forsee any problems with this approach and do you recommend something else to help offset anything?
I know that you don't have a crystal ball but your opinion is appreciated.
Please take as many credits as required.
Respectfully,
Arturo

Q: I hold both GSY and BAM, and I'm considering increasing my stake. Historically, BAM has outperformed GSY over the past few years. Both stocks have similar dividend yields. Which one would you recommend I prioritize, or should I consider adding to both? I'd appreciate your insights. Thanks
Q: Do you predict much growth for EQB in the next year or two? Would you lump GSY into the same growth projectory? Would you expect PRL to provide better long-term growth than either of these?
Appreciate your insight.
Paul F.

Q: Of which listed names would you be most inclined to start a new position; for growth in TFSA accounts (granted some size difference)?
Q: Hi,
Having read a lot of Q&A s on both these stocks, I know you still support a Hold position and bit cautious because of tariffs drama but not too worried about the management or long term prospects of either company.
My question is this. I have GSY and understandably now I am down. I was up a while back before it trended down. However I did take the profit in PRL! (Lucky me!)
Should one sell some of GSY and buy with that money a position in PRL now? To hedge one's bet in that risky lending domain? Or add to GSY gradually and wait? If I am right in interpreting your answers, you think PRL has more potential for faster growth and rebound than GSY. Hence I am contemplating on such a move.
Many thanks in advance.

Q: I'm writing to follow up on your response to Josh's questions regarding beaten-down Canadian stocks.
Would you kindly rank your preferred order of purchases among the names discussed? Are there any that you would consider "table-pounding" buys at current levels?
Please also include your thoughts on CNQ, as well as FOUR, ROAD, and CLBT.

Q: On GSY earnings . Revenue was up 10% and yet profit " fell " ..... As GSY's business model is pretty simple { earnings based on interest charged on the amount lent } Could 5i explain how if more money was taken in { revenue } how it is possible for profit to fall ? ..... It's kind of like a bank saying it lent 10% more money but somehow we lost money { profit } .... Thanks for your terrific service ......
Q: PRL came in with strong earnings a few days ago. Whereas GSY has been on a steady downturn lately and is down 8.5% today alone. I would have thought they would trade somewhat in sympathy with each other being in the same industry ..... I'm down about 20 % on GSY right now and considering abandoning it for greener pastures ..... If it were to at least level out I would be inclined to stay the course but it isn't ..... Need 5i advice on first what is going on ? And second why it is going on ? Thanks for your terrific service ......
Q: Hi team,
Can you comment on Gsy earnings. What was expected for numbers? It seems revenue growth was much slower than normal here for these guys. Concerning?
Thanks ,
Shane
