Q: I hold Air Canada stock and purchased it at 49.55 back in 2019. Not sure if it will ever return as its been almost of a year and is just laying there.
It represents .75% of my portfolio.
What is some advice you could give me.
Thank you,

Q: Thanks for the great service. I feel like I have become too heavy on tech and healthcare and not well-diversified globally. Can you suggest some small and large caps that you would buy today?
Q: I have been dithering about buying AC in my TFSA for some time now and would appreciate your read on the stock, primarily from a political aspect. Seems the federal government is not in love with the sector as it continues refusing to pay out cancellation money. However the government recognizes the critical national role it plays and AC’s historical relationship to government national transportation policy. Then there is the government’s push to severely contain international travel. So many moving parts. I get a sense that it is too early to buy and best to get more clarity forsaking the initial pop the stock would take on good news. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Derek

Q: Hi 5i,
First of all, thanks for your advise to help me understand more for the US & Canadian stock markets. I have a feeling that the US market will end the over 10 years bull market soon and bear market will come in. Due to the issue of GME, BB, NOK, and AMC showing many "NEW" investors involve the US and Canadian market (because of the BB), specially the Reddit social media investor forums is not healthy. I guess the Canadian market may also affected, due to the BB issue. Just in case the bear market will come, what the above stocks need to be sold to play safe. I am thinking to sell KXS, LSPD, and NVEI, those stock prices may not be survival during the big drop in coming. Do you have the same feeling that the bear market will come? Can you please rank the above stocks able to survival during the bear market and please suggest to take off any just in case the worst worst things really happen.

Q: First of all, thank you for your amazing work. Cannot express how helpful my 5i subscription has been. Life-changing in all honesty.
My positions in LSPD (17.3%) and GSY (12.7%) have gotten a little out of hand. I was fortunate to pick them up near their lows in April. I've already trimmed both a couple of times, but I am really struggling to sell more given the positive outlook 5i has of both for the future. I've seen similar questions asked about trimming and selling positions with phenomenal growth and seen your responses suggesting to trim positions to reasonable weightings. I thought I might have an easier time doing so if you suggested some positions to add to or some new ones viewed as favourably as LSPD and GSY.
I have the following companies in a TFSA and have included the weightings only of positions I think might warrant a second look. While I anticipate a comment about weightings needing to be personal what would YOU suggest as the highest weighting for LSPD and GSY? And, again, please suggest some positions to add to or new ones.
Feel free to take question credits as you see fit.

Q: BAM.A is now trading at $49+ , has the stock recovered to the pre-pandemic levels OR do you think that it still has upside.
Also at this point, would airline stocks be better or the cruise lines, which has more upside ?
My strategy is to buy airline/cruise stocks now....sell in 1-3 years and then move that money to something like BAM.... what do you think of this?
Thanks

Q: Hi, my respected 5i team
Could you please recommend some solid names(US and Canadian markets) focusing on post-Covid theme play? I would like to take advantage of the price decline due to the pandemic lock down, some solid names that will be the survivors.
Thanks in advance!

Q: Hello 5i team
As a front line (nearly retired) physician, I recently received a Covid 19 immunization. It's difficult to express the REMARKABLE sense of gratitude and euphoria that I observed among everyone involved . Suddenly, we felt liberated from the danger of this scourge that we face daily. Our next exciting job is to immunize our fellow citizens as fast as humanly possible and as we do, this euphoria will spread to society at large.
After my immunization I bought a new car and we're booking our fall and winter travel plans. This manic behaviour, I believe, represents the tip of the iceberg for pent up demand which will be unleashed upon the world.
At the risk of being labelled a mercenary can you identify some sectors which are still beaten up and likely to surge-I'm thinking energy but other suggestions welcome (prefer etf's with a dividend to keep me invested until the recovery occurs-would supplement with high conviction stocks)
Thank you. As always, I value your opinions, Regards gary

Q: Hi 5i team,
I recently purchased AC, which is in the balanced portfolio, and it has been going down in the past short while. I've a loss of about 20%. I'm thinking of selling it before year end for capital loss though I do not have capital gain this year to offset the loss. I intend to repurchase it after 30 days but wonder if its momentum will switch and moving higher in price in 30 days. Your opinion please. Thanks and a very merry Xmas to the entire team at 5i.

Q: I have a considerable base of my portfolio in CDN banks. The share prices are approximately flat from where I bought them. Is there any catalyst to make banks outperform in the next year or 2? It feels like there have to be sectors that will bounce well with a recovery and wondering about diverting some funds there to try to catch the bounce on a return to travel and the like. I have nibbled at Air Canada and wonder about some other names that have a high likelihood of surviving and bouncing nicely. Canada or US, moderate risk is OK. Thanks!
Q: Hi 5i. Assuming in Canada there is pent up demand for travel, and dollars sitting in deposit accounts, what Canadian equities in the travel or hospitality space would one consider investing in once Covid-19 abates and travel restrictions are rescinded?
Please list any Canadian equities that you think will benefit from Canadians traveling again. Thanks

Q: Hi!
As part of my industrials sector weighting, I have 4% allocated to transportation. Given the current environment, I believe airlines are the best value, but probably also the riskiest. Nevertheless, my portfolio is reasonably well balanced. Do you think it is prudent to invest my 4% allocation entirely in AC? It clearly provides better value than the railroads and trucking, but as I said, with increased risk.
Thank you,
Jason

Q: Well, Air Canada's all time high was about 50 loonies per share. But now with the recent dilution of existing shareholders, I estimate the revised high will be about $45, adjusted for the dilution, Seems like a floor is forming under AC shares at about $23.60. What say you, aka your guess, and what with all the uncertainty that there is, about will this floor hold? And also what is the long-term guess-estimate target price in 12 months or longer?......Tom
