I want to replace it with 2 Utilities in my RRSP and 1 in my TFSA. What Utility stocks would you pick today?
These are income portfolios with approx 5% per position.

I look forward to your answer..

Q: Trading in BEP.UN and BIP.UN Friday from 3:30 to 4:00 was frenzied with big price swings which I presume was connected to indexers acquiring BIP and dumping BEP, though I don't understand the thesis, any insight? Since we knew that BIP was going into the TSX 60 well in advance is there an opportunity that we could have taken advantage of, knowing that ETFs would have to be buying shares by a deadline? Thanks, J.

Q: Hello 5i,

Would you have interesting companies on your radar screen that are either in the renewable energy, water, or waste sector that would be eco friendly?

Please exclude BEP.UN AQN, BLX, and INE.

(aware of market cap risk and sector risks)

Thanks!

Q: What do you think about Algonquin's 54% debt to asset ratio? Is this a little high or not bad? I note that it is higher than bep and bip's ratios. With word of them looking at more acquisitions, are they in potential trouble with debt levels if they do so? Thanks.

Q: Can you tell me the debt to asset ratios for the above four companies? And how about the payout ratio for each? Thanks.

Q: Hi, can you rank the following companies as long term hold potential taking into account current valuations. I am looking to start positions in all companies I am just not sure which ones to start with.

Also, I feel like there is so much noise about moving away from oil that buying ENB long term can be a bad portfolio decision. Can you also comment on this. I am 30 and don't plan on selling anything any time soon.

Q: Hi team
I am looking for a high yield, safe company to invest in. I found these in your portfolios. What are your comments on those today, how do you rank them or are there any other stocks you will recommend?
Thanks
Margita

Q: What is the payout ratio on these two stocks? When i research there is conflicting information from a payout ratio of 60-70% to a high of over 175%.

What is the forward 1 year P/E ratios on these? Is this an important figure to watch?

Morningstar reports BIP.UN and BEP.UN free cash flow dropping 3 consecutive years and BEP.Un reporting Negative earnings. Would a short seller like the one on EIF pounce on this or do you view these companies as more safe?

Are these still good investments on a 10 year plus time horizon and would it be better held in a registered or unregistered account.

thanks

Q: I am retired and consider safety and a high dividend yield with growth potential important.

I am a fan of the Brookfield companies and hold both BEP.UN and BIP.UN

My concern with BEP.UN is that RBC estimates its 2017 ACFFO payout ratio at 109% and may stay elevated for several years. It believes it to be fully valued and its share price is above target price.

I know you like this stock but should I be concerned? Thanks

Q: First of all thank you for putting the "sectors" beside the names in your portfolios - that is much appreciated.

Could you please list the "utility" companies you like best in order or preference and could you state if it is "large" company or a "small" company.
Thank you
Margaret

Q: Do the high p/e ratios on these stocks concern you or does their future growth take care of that? Also, are their dividends sustainable over the long term? Morningstar reports a low ROE on BEP and BIP, yet they are ranked as a high quality investment. AQN,BIP-UN and especially BEP-UN also seem to have high debt levels. Are these still good buys? thanks
