Q: For a 5-10 year hold within a TFSA could you please provide your top 10 Canadian stocks or CDR’s ranked by total return/compounding potential? For a non-registered account with a 3-5 year timeframe could you also do a top 10 list including both Canadian or US equities (no CDR’s), again ranked by total return/compounding potential? Thanks.

Q: Do you think that AVGO's high valuation is justified by its growth prospects or is it time to get out? Would you switch to QCOM, which is cheap because of the concerns they are about to lose Apple's business, some other stock, or would you hang in with AVGO?

Q: Hi,
I added this one a while back in a TFSA, but find for a stock I though would be fairly consistent, it has some higher than expected drops - such as todays roughly 3% and a similar one about a week ago. Any thoughts on what might be prompting this? I also note the technical indicators of OBV and Accum/Dist continue to rise with price, leaving me think these drops aren't overly concerning, that this isn't the case with IBM since it's earnings drop. Do you think there is a 'caution' flag out on IBM? It doesn't seem to be holding up all that well post earnings, and I thought the earnings were OK. I'd welcome your thoughts on it as well. Feel free to consider this two questions - and thanks for your continued work on our behalf!

If I were to write (Sell) cash secured puts, which of these companies do you fancy. Will keep July 25th exp as a constant. I usually keep the delta between 15-25. But I know this changes rapidly. On a side note do you give importance to implied volatility?

Q: We needed to trim our position of Broadcom in a TFSA but instead of selling some we sold calls 18 days out at $15 above the price. We didn't notice the earnings date nor did we expect the stock to jump approx. $20 above the call price (since decreased). We intend to buy some back. Would you buy a full position at this time? Look for a dip? Is the earnings date usually something to be concerned about when selling covered calls?

Q: I have the above stocks all at significant $$ losses in my trading account. I don't need to sell any, but am wondering if I should sell and switch to other similar stocks to lock in capital losses. Do you have an opinion on which you'd sell tomorrow - and a proxy for an equivalent or better replacement. And which ones you would keep due to their unique positioning in the current market? I don't really want to sell and wait 30 days to rebuy the same stock.
