Buy all at once? buy those most recently added? Buy on any dips? Buy those with positive momentum? Buy those taht haven't been doing so well?

Q: Good morning,
Following the sale of XLF in my US$ Non registered account for tax loss reasons, I'm considering the purchase of an Energy ETF.
Q1. Between XEG in Canada and XLE in the US, which do you prefer and which d you think has a better risk reward profile?
Q2. Assuming you prefer the Canadian market for the Energy sector, is there another Energy ETF in Canada that you would prefer to XEG?
Thank you and I'll await your response.

Q: I generally look at a company's PE when assessing it. I think the S & P TSX composite is around 16 or so. But each sector within the composite has a different average PE. For example, the Financial sector is lower as is the energy sector, while technology is much higher. Is there a publication you are aware of the breaks down the PE’s for the various sectors within TSX or S&P?
Thank you.
Dave

Q: BEPC has been a favorite of yours for a long time. I bought it more towards the highs a couple years ago when there was so much talk about renewables from the Biden administration and everyone was piling into renewables. Since then this stock has gone down and it was your favorite two years ago at all time highs and now around 20 dollars off its high it is still a top dividend pick. I also averaged down on it based on how favorable you spoke about this company but I have still not broken even. My question is in what environment would you see this stock doing well again? What would be a catalyst for this stock performing well and why is it still a top dividend pick? Does it represent value at this price and could you please comment on the profitability of this company. Thank you!
Q: I've held BNS for 7 years now, and it's barely moved in that time. What is your rationale on continuing to hold this bank in the BE profile? At what point would you consider a switch?

iShares Convertible Bond Index ETF (CVD $17.92)
Q: Both of these historically have gone down over their full length of time. Why is that? Do you think these are still good for a long term investment for an income investor and is this a good time to buy them? Thanks.
Q: Altus has been picking up steam lately and I am considering adding to my small holding. Do you suggest this is a good time seeing that there is some upward growth and the new CEO is relatively established? Or is there still significant risks?

Q: Could you suggest a diversified mini portfolio of Cdn stocks from your BE portfolio? The portfolio is too small to accommodate the full BE set of stocks. Thank you and happy new year.
Q: I’ve held PBH through thick and thin for over 5 years waiting for the “growth” to materialize and yet after this time I’m down nearly 20%. How long do you give a company to perform before moving on? Even if I was just breaking even I’d have some more patience with this but the opportunity cost of 5 lost years and a 20% loss is telling me it’s time to find something else. Your perspective would be appreciated. Thanks.
