Q: I have done well on TOU but am well off the highs. The dividend is minimal and I'm wondering if you can suggest another energy company that is strong but with a decent dividend. what about CPG, for example. I have a full ENB position as well as lots of renewables so am thinking more fossil fuel companies. thanks

5i Research Answer:
TOU's regular dividend yields 1.7%, but it has also paid $7.75 in special dividends in the past year, boosting total yield substantially. It will likely keep paying special dividends, depending on gas prices. They have been weak, and this has been the main reason for the stock's decline. We would still prefer it to CPG. But WCP or SU are oil-alternatives for high yields within the sector.
