Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: I have stayed away from energy, except for ENB and TC, which are pipelines.
Do you think there is more upside in the O & G stocks. If so what would you suggest?
Also the same goes for basic materials. I am not interested in gold. What would be your picks for basic materials.
Thanks for your service, I would be lost without it.

Q: The above listed stocks are in the $C side of my husband's RRIF. I would appreciate your input on which stocks to reduce or eliminate to make his annual withdrawal. Please rank from first sell/reduce to last. For context, our overall portfolio is overweight technology and communication services (primarily GOOG & DIS)
Thank you, Jane N
PS please use as many credits as needed.

Q: I have been slowly existing this sector ( including pipelines ) as it is fraught with so many political, environmental, supply/ demand issues. The recent rise in o&g prices I see as temporary; the world has changed and the market has assigned a lower valuation to stocks in this industry. These are my remaining holdings ( bought at much higher prices) which comprise approximately 2 % of total portfolios. Believe I should sell them and get them off my portfolio sheet ( and out of my head ! ). Selling is much harder than buying. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Derek
