Q: Hi, I would appreciate if you can provide your thoughts/analysis of HWO with long term outlook. Stock has lost significant value since beginning of this year.
Thanks,
Q: I currently hold positions in two drillers - CET and HWO. I am looking to consolidate my holdings into one driller. CET and HWO are pursuing very different strategies going forward. CET is acquiring firms and HWO is divesting assets. In your opinion what is the better company to keep or is it too close to call?
Q: Hi,
BIR, WCP, PEY, CVE, GXE, & ERF have significant gains in my portfolio.
SGY, and HWO on the other hand have laggard in this sector.
I would like your guidance if I should sell any of these at this time or hold. If hold for now, what should I watch out for?
Q: It's time that I trim my above portfolio of 13 oil & gas stocks to sector weighting. Which 6 stocks do you think should be first to be trimmed? Please list the stocks in order from the first to be sold to the sixth. This is for medium risk profile. Also could you list a short reason why you think it should go for each of the six stocks.
Just looking for your perspective on the energy sector / wti increase having further gains to year end or even Q1 22 ? I have many positions that are near back to break even or now even positive. Please advise TY
Q: Good afternoon, I'm feeling grouchy about my TFSA today. Quite a few of my holdings are underwater. Tech is the only area that has shown me any growth. I am down 46% on XTC, down 80% on HWO, down 36% on GUD, down 6% on BCI, up 5% on DOL, and down 6% on SIS. I know I can't claim losses but is it time to dump some of these and redeploy. I don't need the cash and can be quite patient and I know my tech weightings are getting high but it seems as though that's where most of my winners are. How high would you let your tech weighting go in a TFSA that is a long term savings vehicle. Thoughts?
Q: I am planning to take some losses as offsets to capital gains from previous years. In some cases, I am considering replacements as well. Please advise of any concerns with, or suggest alternatives to, the following sale (purchase) plan.
Sell HWO, PSI & IPL (buy PPL and AQN - already own ENB, ALA & KEY)
Sell SU & CJ (buy CNQ and PXT - already own ARX). I also have a sizeable loss on VET, but consider that is presently so far below comparables, that I should wait for some recovery – or sell now and move on?
Sell HR.UN (buy another REIT, possibly TCN.UN and/or ERE.UN - already own IIP.UN & NWH.UN).
Q: The last question on High Arctic was in March 2020. (some in January) Have your thoughts changed? Seems to be drifting slightly higher? 49 cents was its 52 week low. Today it is 70 cents. Dividend has been suspended I believe.
The question is to sell, hold or "average in" to reduce my "losses"! It won't reach 3 dollars + for a looong while, I don't think.
If I do decide to sell , what would be your alternative stock to consider? I know you have been suggesting all the subscribers to wade into the market "gingerly" with 1/8th position. (paraphrasing your answers)
Thanks.
Q: HWO along with everything in the energy sector in free fall. Been here before I am ok but trying to figure what is worth holding/buying or letting go.
In your opinion will Hwo survive this rough patch?
Thanks
John
Q: What are your thoughts on HWO as far as an investment for a contrarian play with a large dividend and a loss of 50% in the last year. Where do you see them going in the next 12 months , any tailwinds on the horizon and is the fat dividend safe?
Thanx Gary
Q: I have small positions in these companies and they are down by about 50%.
Are the dividends secure in your opinion? I am just deciding to add or sell. Do you think there might be a turn around in this sector over the next year?
Q: HWO's US and PNG operations are bright spots in an otherwise bleak report. Can they be a buyer when others are sellers? Their costs of dividends - as compared, say, to EBITDA - seems manageable. Your thoughts?
Q: I have positions in these companies way way under my cost. Looking for a strategy to capture some tax loss without giving up completely in allocation in case of oil turnaround. Consolidation in less number of stocks that represents the best potencial is an option or selling all of them and buying two or three different companies is another option. Appreciate any suggestion. Thanks for your help.
Q: I would like to sell one or both of the above for a tax loss. Which would be your preference to sell? Or should I let them both go? Would you recommend buying back after 30 days?
Thank you.
Q: "High Arctic Energy Services said Tuesday that Papua New Guinea has validated its LNG Gas Agreement. PNG Petroleum Minister's validation included new "good faith" concessions such as the preparation of a National Content Plan, third party pipeline access, possible state participation in pipeline ownership as well as LNG transport tankers."
Does this change your opinion on the company again? Thanks.
