Q: Hi Peter,

In this downtrend market could you please give your three best stocks to buy for 3 to 5 years hold in each sector in canada and US as well ?

Q: My portfolio analysis suggests I am underweight in Basic Materials, Consumer Cyclicals, Utilities and Healthcare. I have USD to invest as I am also underweight in the US. Could you give me your 2 best suggestions for overall return (not high-risk) in each of these sectors individually as well as a group. I would also like to know if there are Canadian companies more attractive than your US suggestions in the same sector. Thank you for your help over the years

Q: This is about topping up a half position in ISRG. Yea would like to do it but the market price rose somewhat like a hockey stick. With that, I'm reluctant to buy ISRG at this point. Seems to me, the market price is way ahead of the fair value and so I'll park the desire to buy ISRG. Keen to get your take on my "viewpoint". But if you consider ISRG a buy, what would be your entry point at this time?.....Thanks....Tom

P.S. While Bombers are at the top of the CFL, me, cheering for Ti-Cats ......but not wagering, rather saving my coins for one day topping up ISRG.......hahahaha

Q: Looking forward to 2022 I think there is a recession coming at us. (Personal Opinion). Looks to me that growth companies are going to continue to face severe headwinds. I also think industrials, financials, energy, and health care will be the sectors that will start to outperform others. Of course I'm open to debate regarding my choices and welcome your opinions. However, I would appreciate 3 or 4 examples of companies that you believe are set up to outperform in these sectors. If I've missed any sector please feel free to add your ideas. Q: If the scary inflation monster is in fact a mirage and we return next year to the old norm of global oversupply, excess savings, and stagnant growth what would be some Canadian and US stocks likely to benefit.

Q: Management always seems to be one of the keys to the success of any company. Could you provide a list of companies that you consider to have top-notch management - any sector, any market cap but leaning towards small to mid cap, Canadian and U.S. I'm not going to put a number limit on this - just whatever you feel comfortable in providing, realizing that there may be too many to list for this type of question. Would you rate these for long term holds
I am going to add TIH and would like one more industrial maybe two healthcare names. just alittle concerned that alot of these names have benefited from covid except for stryker but i think it has run up on anticipation of more surgeries coming back

Q: My 28 yo son has $6k USD to invest in his RSP. I have considered many good companies, and whittled it down to 4 choices. I could not find a site to learn the ROIC on these companies. Q: As a new subscriber, I’m thoroughly impressed with your advice and 5i Research services overall - thank you for all that you do.

I currently hold ABBV, BMY, CVS, and GSK in a long-term hold, diversified RRSP portfolio. I’m not necessarily looking to add further healthcare exposure, but am very interested in the long term prospects for MRK +/- ISRG and would appreciate your opinion on them. And compared to my existing companies, would there be a suggested ranking of these six in terms of potential for long term compounding growth?

Q: thanks for Thursday's Market Update...the narrative and charts put reduced tapering with interest rate increases clearly in front of me...and now is making me wonder, especially about a possible window of opportunity later in the year, if I should wait until later to top up to full positions in ISRG and SYK, both heath care US stocks in a LIRA and to be held for the long-term, or do it now....what would you suggest I do or consider?.....oh, the funds used would move health care closer to the Portfolio Analytic target for this sector........thanks for the insights....Tom

So I am a slow learner and a bad listener.....in order to add AND to my health care basket, Chartwell is gone.......I did not feel like adding $ for $ so have some of CSH proceeds left to top up a position or 2 in my basket....Please list 1, 2 ,3 in priority of your preferences above and if you see any you would not advise be kept, please say so and why.
