Q: Hello Team 5i,

I recently sold GUD, my only CDN. or US. Health Care holding. Could you recommend one or more replacements for me? Not sure what your current suggested health Care portfolio weighting should be but that might figure into your response.

I read something recently that indicated that the S&P/TSX Health Care index is down 58% between March 2021 and 2022, might that be correct? If so, would you say this would be a good time to be buying?

Thanks for your wisdom

Q: Which would you choose if only one were to be added to a portfolio? I have owned SYK and know it to be a relatively steady-eddy company but one that has had some solid growth over the years. ISRG showed very promising stock appreciation but that has certainly cooled off over the past several months. Which do you feel has the better total upside over the next 5 years?

Appreciate your insight.

Q: Hi 5i,
Hope you are all well.

My wife's portfolio accounts (RSP,TFSA,CASH) on a consolidated basis show the following asset allocations by % sector type:

Tech --- 38%
Telec -- 0%
Financ - 4.6%
Cons --- 6.8%
Mater -- 0.6%
Reits -- 1.8%
Energy - 3.8%
Util/Pip - 4.0%
Indus --- 2.6%
Health - - 0%
CASH --37.8%

Obviously, quite a few glaring gaps to fill ... could you please suggest some top of mind positions in the key underallocated sectors that would provide a more rational and balanced portfolio thesis.

Thank you very much,
Dean

Q: I have CCP corporation and would appreciate your recommendations for buy and forget stocks (moderate risk; 10-year hold). With such high dividend taxes in the CCPC, I would prefer stocks that pay a lower dividend or no dividend. Could you please recommend the 10 CAN and 5 US stock you would buy today, if you were starting this account?
Thanks for the great advise!!

Q: I'm in the process of rebuilding my portfolio for 2022. It would be helpful if you could share with me a list of both Canadian and American companies that meet the following criteria:
1. They are some of your favourite companies from a fundamental perspective
2. They are currently buying back their own shares.
3. They offer a decent dividend.
4. They run businesses that offer good growth prospects for next year.
5. They currently offer good value.
6. These companies are so solid they would classify as 'core ' holdings.
At least six companies in each list would be appreciated.

Finally, I would like to express my gratitude for the support and ideas you have shared this past year. Definitely one of the best advisory services available to Canadians,

Q: Hi Peter & team,

For US Heathcare, I’ve ABBV. I want to add one more wide moat, stable growth healthcare company. Thinking of either SYK or ISRG. Based on their current market valuation, balance sheets, and future revenue growth, which is the current preferred choice and why. Or is there another better choice? What’s the suggested entry price? Thanks.
