Q: Dear 5i Team,

If there was an option to totally liquidate all of the investments someone had and start with a clean slate, which 20 stocks US and Canada (10 each) would you recommend for a 10 year horizon?

Thank you for your advice as always,

Much appreciated.

Q: Hi Folks,
I currently own the above in my TFSA and non registered accounts as part of the "tech" sector - I would like your opinion as to whether you would add to any of them OR would this be a good entry point to buy CSU for some Canadian exposure.
Thanks

Q: Could I have your best single selection for both US and Canada for a conservative investor in these 7 sectors - energy, global defence, cyber, pipelines, utilities, consumer staples and defensive growth within software tech. Thank you for the help.

Q: Good morning 5i
I am well diversified in my portfolio and so i am looking to buy opportunistically into this dip. So sectors don’t matter. What do you see as the best opportunity currently? Also, your analysis tells me that i need more weight outside of Canada and the US. With this turmoil would Europe be a good choice. If so, what etf would you use?
Thanks

Q: Further to my question from feb 16, 2022
Thank you for trying to help me transform from dividend investor to a bit of growth.
5I mentionned P/E, P/S, ROE ratios.
What are the present ratio values for these 3 companies right now. ( I understand this is a snapshot in time).
A. what is considered a "good" / buy cutoff for these ratios
B. how would you priorize or rank these ratios in terms of importance (from a buying perspective)
C. a rising dividend is sometimes a warning signal of a falling price (catching the knife concept) should I be wary of looking at these ratios like a % dividend; rising dividend not necessarily a good sign OR sometimes a good buy if really / fundamentally a good company (which I believe all 3 to be.)

Q: Given the recent and continued decline in Teck stocks, can you provide your top 5 Tech picks for US and Canada. Small and large cap??
Read Answer Asked by Timothy on February 24, 2022
Q: Based on todays prices, which of the beaten up tech is the "best" (most likely to do well moving forward, best monopoly / moat safety, most safe earnings, best books today, best P/E) to buy for a long term hold (over ten years)?

qualifying them on the above characteristics would be appreciated or any other variable that you feel is important.

If my list missed any other tech considerations, please let me know.

thanks

Q: Hi,
I have $20,000 to top up my TFSA and wonder what would be best considering my above holdings. Should I add to any of the above or can you suggest any other stock or ETF that would be most suitable for growth and preservation. Your advice is most appreciated.

Q: I have very limited tech exposure in my portfolio (AT, SYZ, LSPD & TIXT all less than 5% each) and I am interested in these 3 names due to recent tech down trend.
1) Can you provide your opinion on them and suggest which one of the three is cheapest in terms of valuation ?
2) which one would be your best pick of the three, and why?
3) Also pick and explain the second choice.
Growth investor with med-high risk appetite and looking at 5 to 10 year holding period.
Thank you

I know you like GOOG, and am wondering if the following story is further reason to buy some/more, and perhaps a reason to lighten up on MSFT?

Q: I am used to thinking of dividend stocks in terms of 1. yield relative to historical yield, 2. payout ratio, 3. years of consistent dividend payout without cut as the major deciding factors what would be equivalent factors be to consider in the tech sector stocks.
such as Google, apple, Microsoft, please provide an analysis in terms of what to consider that would influence buying / ranking one over the other.

Q: Hi!

I'm looking to establish a U.S. portfolio and I've identified these 5 stocks as a good base. I have plenty of exposure to financials and energy in my CDN portfolio. Do you think these stocks are a good starting point? Would you replace any?

Thanks,
Jason

Any suggestions you have would be helpful.
Thanks so much for your help in the past, it has always proved very lucrative.
