Link to "The Stock Market is still dangerously bubbly"

I have been a blue chip dividend investor for almost 2 decades and have been more recently challenged to incorporate "growth stocks" and don't have a feel for this sector at all.

Please provide the 5i response or rebuttal to the bubbly status of the market?

Do larger growth stocks example, Googl, apple, Microsoft and amazon. represent a safety over the "average" growth stock?

thanks

Q: I have sold AMZN and TTD to harvest a tax loss. I will buy both after 30 days. Can you suggest proxies for either or both of these or is it best to just wait it out.

Appreciate your insight.

Q: Further to Neil's question on May 9, can you list some tech/growth stocks that are looking good at current prices? I would like to start nibbling away with the understanding prices could go lower but with the 30% decline in Nasdaq from high, we must be getting close to the bottom here. Thanks

For starting TFSA position, i was thinking of Brookfield Asset Management, Goog Ne (CDR) and either Royal Bank or Sunlife.. What makes more sense for a conservative value oriented long term positions? Thanks very much.

Q: Good Day
When these companies like BNS announce share buybacks. What determines when they buy back shares and how many total buybacks they exercise. Would the buybacks by Google be done the same way or are the rules in the US different?

Q: Dear Peter and Ryan.

I allocated almost same dollar amount in Meta (FB) (formerly known as Facebook), Amazon (AMZN), Apple (AAPL), Alphabet (GOOG), NVDA and others. I invested a bit heavily in tech stocks and got hammered. I was disappointed in the business model of Meta lately. Today after trading hours, Meta released earnings and the price jumped. I think this may be a good opportunity to sell tomorrow and switch to some non-tech sectors. How do you think? What one or two names would you recommend to invest now to diversify away from high growth stocks?

Thank you,
Yiwen

Q: Hello:

With some coaching my older sons (aged 15 & 17) have come to realize that money sitting in a bank account is losing value due to inflation. They have taken small positions in ZQQ which appeals to their interests and the market has declined a bit but the silver lining is that they learn patience and understand risk.

With part-time jobs they have some more cash to deploy. Of course CAD holdings are easier but what would you pick? A few I think of:

BAM.A - Canadian and should see stable growth.
SLF - Canadian, but too conservative?
COST - USD is messier with FX fees but also very stable growth.
GOOG - USD again, but is it still considered cheap?

Other options?

Thank you!

Q: Hi group please what would be your 3 top picks along with brief explanation (in order of preference) in Canada + US regardless of sectors and risk.

2 nd question - We are in heap of trouble due to inflation +geo political concerns + and so on. Do you recommending selling some higher risk growth / Tech stocks into this weakness. Is it time to reduce stock holdings generally? I realize you do not have a crystal bowl but you comments are requested thanks

Q: Hello 5i Team,

With the continued decline of stocks related to the semi-conductor industry (e.g. materials, fabrication, testing), is now a good time to buy for a 3+ year hold? Or should I wait for prices to settle?

Either way, could you please recommend 3 stocks for me to consider (not including NVDA, which I already own) and include a brief comment explaining each choice.

Thanks!

Q: When the price of oil tanked, a few fund managers pounded the table. Now that tech is sputtering significantly, do you see multiples of today's prices in the next 18 months?
Specifically, Nvidia, Lightspeed, Topics, Shopify, Google, Facebook, Apple, Amazon, etc.
Is now the time or once the gut-wrenching war subsides or would you stay away?
Thanks.
