Q: Hello Peter,

I think the market either goes down some or takes a breather for a couple of weeks as it digests the probability of a higher peak interest rate. I would like your opinion please.
In that context I am thinking of taking some profit on some of my long term positions that have rebounded with the intention of raising cash and legging in again as the rebound happens. At the same time I like them a lot and do not want to keep chasing after I sell. Just want to manage my risk without options.
In the semiconductor space I have a full position in NVDA and QCOM and half positions in ON and AMD. How would you suggest I trim, or should I go along for a bumpy ride?
As regards CRWD, I am in a conundrum. I like the space and it is my only holding there. It is also expensive. How would you suggest I manage the risk from here- I do not trade options.
Looking forward to your suggestions.
Regards
Rajiv

Q: Hi Peter,

It seems the market wants to take a breather what with inflation being sticky- makes me hesitant to put in new money?

Would you be a buyer of TWLO after today's price surge or wait for it to settle (and maybe miss the boat)? How would you compare it to CRWD as far as the return on investment is concerned? I have been using CRWD as a benchmark for comparison of risky growth stocks. Do you think that is a reasonably fair and quick method to evaluate ?

Q: Hi, can you give me your thoughts on some Cyber security stocks?
Is now a good time to be edging into these stocks or should I be waiting for a pullback everyone seems to say is coming soon?
I'm thinking of starting a position in either Crowdstrike or Palo Alto. Which would you recommend or do you have others you would prefer?
Thanks
Harry

Q: hi,
I own both GOOGL and CRWD. I am considering selling CRWD for a tax loss, and buying more GOOGL since the AI (or is is AU for artificial unintelligence?) chat thing mishap has driven price down more. question is do you think this is wise, or do you like CRWD as much as GOOGL right now? I am a long term investor, and certainly don't need to get (another) tax loss benefit. appreciate your thoughts, chris

Q: I am down more than 50% on CRWD.US, ROKU.US, and GH.US in my RRIF and should have been paying more attention as they kept getting lower.

Is there any hope for a distinct short term (1 year) revival, or would a better plan be to sell all/any of them and invest in something with momentum.

Suggestions are welcome.

Q: I own all of the above US Tech, except ROKU. I was interested in your answer yesterday regarding potential growth for ROKU, all things going well. Amoung these companies, is there anything you would sell to move into ROKU? I don't really want to put new money into more US Tech, but would rather find the right balance in the funds I already have there. Thanks!

Q: Q1: What 3 to 5 stocks if added would work well with the existing 17 stocks below?

Q2: Are there any already in this list that you would say (like Jack Armstrong) "Get that garbage out of here" or are they all okay?

AAPL, ABCL, AMD, APPS, ATZ, COST, CRWD, DDOG, DOO, ECN, GOOG, GSY, NVDA, SHOP, TD, TOI, WELL

Q: Cybersecurity - which are your top two ? - i.e. are the best of the best.

Which of these particular two:

- Has the best valuation?

- Has the best potential growth?

- Is the "safest" and has the best chance at being around for the long term?

- Has the best product / geographic diversification?

- Are both of these considered at the cutting edge?

Q: Dear 5i team.

I'm considering adding to my IHAK position but wanted to clear up something with you first.
In the archives, you mentioned that a combination of CRWD/NET/PANW would be an alternative to owning the ETFs IHAK or HACK. Are you still of this view? Do you still prefer IHAK to HACK?
Are the valuations of these holdings back to a level that reflects current realities?

Many thanks for your help.

Q: Hi and Happy New Year!
question 1: We've managed to get through 2022 with about 25% cash on hand and are starting to deploy it now. Mostly choosing dividend paying stocks that are in the favoured industries (defense and industrial) at the moment, but also looking at some long term holdings that are below water in registered accounts, such as GOOG. I know you're not fans of adding just because a stock is down, but would GOOG be an exception, given it's moat, cash flow, etc? I am guessing it needs to confirm a double bottom, possibly get back above 95.00 in order to look like it might be turning. Would that be a plan, or is it time to just buy it now? Growth investor, able to withstand higher risk. Own AAPL, MSFT, and sadly still holding CRWD.

Question 2: is the recent downgrade on MSFT reflected accurately in the price, or has that been overdone, do you think? The downgrade by UBS indicated a shift to neutral with a target to 250 or so, I think.

Thanks for the infinite patience you exhibited over the past, very difficult year!

Dawn

Q: Over the past two years with the downturn of the market, I am down significantly with majority of these holdings in various accounts. I have a long-term 10+ year outlook, so looking to see if you feel any of these can be sold off given the outlook, management of the company? If so, what are your recommendations for a growth investor in either CAD/US stock options?

Thanks!!
