Q: Hi 5i Team - I am considering increasing my holdings in financials. Could you provide a couple of ideas in each of small cap, mid cap, and large cap companies, concentrating on Canadian companies but any U.S. suggestions are welcomed too. Thanks.
In this downtrend market could you please give your three best stocks to buy for 3 to 5 years hold in each sector in canada and US as well ?
Thank you for your best advise on this platform.
Could you recommend 5 of your favourite stocks (US or CDN) that provide a healthy mix of dividend yield and growth outlook?
This would be for a Smith Maneuvre with interest rate at 2.95%. Ideal scenario would be to get yield to be at 3% with some growth outlook on a 5 year time horizon.
Q: I think I know the answer to this already, but would you be comfortable with a full position in JPM? How would it do in a rising interest rate environment?
Q: I have US funds available to purchase stocks . Can you recommend 6 U.S market traded stocks for an income style portfolio . They can be Canadian stocks with a U.S listing
Q: Have US cash to deploy in a US Spousal RSP. Looking for long term yield, capital appreciation and relative safety. Comparing ABBV vs JPM (acknowledge different sectors). ABBV has high yield/high multiple, JPM ok yield/lower multiple/likely more upside with interest rates. Which is preferred?
Q: This a follow-up to our TFSA question dated August 24, 2021, and specifically relates to the 5i suggested list of 10 US stocks.
Of the 10, we have so far initiated positions in GRMN, LULU and REGN.
As we already have a substantial position in V (and MA), please suggest an alternative, perhaps in payment services, such SQ, AFRM or PYPL. Also, please suggest an entry point.
For the remainder, NVDA, DG, GOOG, JPM, CRWD and APPS, please rank them in terms of conviction and for each, suggest an entry point.
Q: Hi 5i Team,
Do you have a preference for long term growth in US banks? I was considering JP Morgan or Bank of America. Any preference here or other suggestion? Looking for long term growth.
Secondly, could you suggest 5 US stocks with good positive momentum that you would invest in now? Sector is not important for these suggestions.
Thanks,
Linda Nemis
Q: Can you give me an opinion on how you would rank these three US Banks and how you determine that ranking and if you feel now is a good entry point for an initial position in any of them?
Q: With the recent earnings out, do you think JPM has still room to grow or you believe it is mostly fully valued at the present price ? Thanks for your valued advices everyday !
Q: Am wondering which of these stocks are vulnerable to climbing interest rates. For the vulnerable ones, would you please advise at what point you would consider reducing or selling them. Also, a strategy on when and how to do such an assessment would be instructive.
Thanks for your great advice. Most of your subscribers say this regularly, but they probably really mean it ! If it weren't for 5i, I'd still be holding a bag of mutual funds not knowing how big my losses were.
Q: I would like to start a Growth portfolio, with 60% US and 40% Canadian stocks. I have approximately $300,000 for this account and a long term view. Would appreciate some suggestions. thanks
