Q: I have just sold UL to garner a small tax loss. I would like to buy back in the new year but which is the better investment for dividend growth and growth UL or PG or should I hedge my bets and buy a bit of both ? Is there anything else in this sector that looks more promising?

Q: I am low on Consumer Cyclicals. What portfolio percentage do you advise to allocate? I have broken down the sector into sub-categories: housing, e-commerce, retail, personal services, lodging. Am I missing a sub-sector that shoud be included? Which ones have the most potential? I have listed some names - but am not tied to any. Apart from AMZN [owned], what are the top 5 or more that you would buy today and any others to keep on watchlist with buy targets? Please rank.

Q: I held AQN in two separate accounts for over a year, I sold AQN in the account that had the largest position (80%) and I've hung on to AQN in the other account.

I thought of replacing AQN with NPI to maintain my sector exposure, I've yet to make that purchase.....why???? I've been side tracked with the idea of buying BEP.... Can you folks please wade in, would appreciate some of your thoughts and rationale.

Q: These all in my RESP, most of them under water except ATD and BAM. Please advise what should I buy to add 10k to it for 2 years hold. Also any thing need to be cleaned up in this list.

Q: I want to say a specific thanks to Peter. In the 1990's I started to follow Peter's articles in the Investor's Digest newspaper. Then I followed him on the original BNN show which at that time was ROBtv. Later, on BNN I followed Peter and that is when he began 5i. I am one of the original 5i members. Q: Hello 5i,

I sold for tax loss VZ and the 30 day period is over. Ignoring that VZ has since increased in price I am starting to change my mind about buying back. Certainly a change in sector but would ABBV be a better replacement since my health care exposure is low? If not can you let me know if VZ is worth buying back.

Q: Well, XYL is confronting a lawsuit - "Rosen Law Firm, a global investor rights law firm, continues its investigation of potential securities claims on behalf of shareholders of Xylem Inc. (NYSE: XYL) resulting from allegations that Xylem may have issued materially misleading business information to the investing public."....Me, wondering if XYL has liability insurance to cover the executives and directors of the board???....In the meantime, do I hold or sell and buy back once the lawsuit is over, aka done with??? .....Tom

Can you rank CNQ, SU and Toumaline in order of preference for overall returns? If owning only one which would be your choice? Is the recent pullback in prices a good opportunity to buy into the sector or should a person stay on the sidelines for a bit to see how the economy slows in the next half year?
