Q: I enjoy all the questions that pass through. I’m not into day trading but certainly add a couple swing trades in as a boost as well as selling calls.

With the question you answered about Canadian companies for day trading would you please provide a few US names that would fit your criteria.

Q: Do you think ADBE will be a long-term winner, given the AI impact on its business? If you like the company long term, would you average down on it and at what price would look attractive to you?

Q: Two part question here. I am trying to add PEG ratio to my thinking about stocks. It seems like a useful metric that combines growth with value. But I don't see it listed frequently enough for Canadian equities. I presume you work with trailing P/E and divide it by growth rather than forward P/E. Is that correct? I also realize I should be looking out for oddities in trailing P/E that shift it one way or another. Anything else I should be looking for? Second, I look at GOOG and it reads well at both a very reasonable forward P/E and PEG under 1. Are there other stocks you see with that combination? Thank-you.

Q: Between these two which would you see as better overall for a 3-5 year hold with a growth tilt.

Q: Good day, Adobe has taken a big hit in the couple of months. Revenue forecast for 2025 is below analysts' consensus. Is this a good technology stock to still hold or can one move to something better. Thanks

It's time to make my annual TFSA contribution. I own AAPL, ADBE CRM, GOOG, NVDA, PYPL, QCOM, and TOL in my TFSA.

I would like to add to one position, which do you recommend? I am overweight NVDA so do not wish to add to that one.

Does 5i consider any of these positions in the 'do not need to own' category? If so, please recommend a replacement (not LLY, MDT, IBM, or MSFT; I own full positions of these in another account). The focus of this account is US equities with a risk profile somewhere between that of the 5i Balanced and Growth portfolios, and the objective is long-term capital appreciation.

Q: Peter, our one true source of help in this investment purgatory, thank you for your response to David yesterday regarding covered calls. Moving forward, could you please provide us with some companies that you use in this endeavor?

Q: I have two questions re: tax loss selling. I have a three year old gain that I can offset by selling the above holdings.

1. First please help me with the math. If I buy a stock for $100, sell it for $90, I have a loss of $10 which would mean I can expect a $2.50 tax loss at a 25% rate. Does this mean that if I wanted to buy the stock back after 30 days, I would only be better off if I buy it back at less than 92.50 per share? Do you have a threshold whereby you must be down by a certain amount to justify a tax loss sale? e.g. 20%? Unless of course you are walking away from a company.

2. Which of the companies listed would you consider buying back after 30 days? I have too many holdings as it is so may just let them all go unless something is particularly interesting. I am overweight technology, underweight everything else but otherwise have a broad mix of funds and stocks.

Q: With the recent drop in price would you view it as a buying opportunity and if so can you see it going back to the $600 mark?

Q: Thoughts on the results?

Q: Given that water is quickly becoming a commodity, do you think that Xylem is well positioned and considered a buy at current prices?

Would you consider Adobe, Palo Alto and Nextera buys at current prices or are there other names you prefer?

Q: Has 5i screened for US-listed shares that are likely to be candidates for tax-loss selling now to end of year 2024? Has 5i done a blog or magazine article or other post identifying US-companies that you would consider attractive to buy? I assume that such a screen would exclude US companies that are being sold off for reasons other than tax-loss harvesting. Thank you. :ao:sab

My patience is running low on CELH LULU ADBE. I'm considering switch to KKR APP SFM. I'm looking for growth with a fairly high risk tolerance.
