Q: It seems a lot of investors are trying to guess which pharmaceutical company will win the vaccine lottery. Assuming there is a vaccine developed by one of these private companies nobody knows what type of profit margin there will be. That seems like a high risk investment strategy to me. Logic suggests that the amount of money I, or my government, will spend to buy my COVID-19 vaccine will pale in comparison with the amount that will we will all spend on PPE, other medical equipment, hand sanitizer, etc, Rather than gamble on which company may win the vaccine lottery wouldn’t it make more sense to invest in XLV or other ETFs which include the companies that are guaranteed to benefit from all of this extra business?

Q: Hi 5i team,
Given the volatile market and demographic, what will be the suggested % for healthcare sector? Currently I don't have much in healthcare and I want to add healthcare etf to my TFSA account, what's the differences between XLV , IHI and IXJ? In terms of valuation and growth, which one will be best to buy now for TFSA? Thanks.

Q: Hi Guys
I have no Healthcare stocks in my portfolio, i was thinking of purchasing the above Mutual fund to cover it. What weighting would you recommend and would you buy 50% now, or take a full weighting. Maybe taking a full weighting is fine as i will not be selling this purchase for years to come. However 2 years out we might see this fund drop maybe 40%..
Your opinion please.

Q: I am looking to get some exposure to the health care sector and thought I would look at an ETF as opposed to a single company. I'm considering either XLV or IHI and would like your opinion of these two ETFs, and which you would prefer. I would be adding the ETF as a full position in my RRSP.
Also, if there is another ETF that you prefer over these two, please include that in your response.
thanks for your insight
Paula

Q: I have recently taken over managing a 401K that is comprised of many ETFs. I have never owned an ETF prior but am wondering if this setup is reasonable. It feels like too many ETFs with a fair bit of overlap. Currently equal weights of: XLV, XLI, XLY, XLK, XLRE, XLU, XLP, XLF, XLC, XLE. Your thoughts - some of these the fees are a bit high as well!

Q: I am looking for US Healthcare ETF. What do you recommend?
Q: Hello 5i,
I don't have much healthcare exposure right now but I'm thinking about getting back in. I noticed the resent many reasonably priced options in Canada - CRH and GUD seem like the go to names but each have massive P/E ratios.
As a result, I was thinking about buying a US retail pharma stock like CVS or just buying the XLV instead. I like CVS as it is kinda like "owning the race track instead of the the race car". Am I hitting the mark with this analogy or am I missing something? Some Bio tech names appear quite cheap due to pricing/political risk etc. But I also would never know which one to buy. Do you see any issues with the CVS in general? Would you recommend just buying the XLV instead? Thanks
