Q: These 3 equities are part of 13 in an income oriented portfolio. SLF is the only financial. If it were you, would you sell one of the Telco.s and purchase a bank? In a word, where would you want to tilt, do you believe the better return lies with financials or with Telco.s. If one is to be sold, which Telco would you let go?

Q: I asked this question yesterday but I don't see it in the 'My Questions' section, so I ask again. I want to add a dividend growth company or ETF to my kids RESP with a 5-10 year time horizon. I already have T, BMO, and ABBV in other accounts. What do you recommend from the 5i Research stock and ETF universe as a good buy now with plans to add over time? Thank you.

Q: Hi Guys
Comparing the 2 Companies, Telus is about 5 x bigger in MCAP. I was surprised to see QBR.B had about 618 million in FCF LTM, which was about the same as Telus at 622 million if my numbers are correct. Telus is about 2x as expensive on Forward P/E.
Yahoo shows Telus having next 5year growth at 17.8% per annum, verses QBR.B at only 5.15%.
Total Debt/EBITDA is actually higher at Telus from what i see at 5.2x Verses QBR.B at 4.0x
How do you view these to companies when comparing them. Is it strictly the poor future growth of QBR.B and the smaller size that makes it unattractive ?

Q: Telus's share price has declined recently, making the dividend very attractive for income investors. What would you consider to be the biggest risk of investing in Telus? Is the stock cheap in your estimation? Would you be comfortable in buying at the current share price?

Q: Hi, Telecom stocks have been weak over past few weeks, perhaps due to bond yields creeping higher, once again. Is there any other reason/news which could have impacted the sector ? Telus, has been particularly soft and broke its 52 weeks low, in today's trading - any ideas, why? How do you foresee this sector and BCE/T performing over 2023 ? Thanks

Q: Hi, Does the court approval of Rogers/Shaw deal create competitive disadvantage for Telus business prospects in the near and long term ? Its stock has been in oversold territory with RSI dropping around 25. It made a new 52 weeks low, in today's trading after the Rogers/Shaw news was announced. What are your thoughts ? Thanks

Q: I have very little exposure to real estate in my portfolio (app 2%) due to concerns about the effects of covid & now rising interest rates. I am considering selling app 50% of my real estate holdings (Riocan - 3000 shares) and using proceeds to increase holdings in either BCE, Telus or Enbridge.

Please give me your thoughts

Q: This is my selection of stocks for steady revenue (and secondarily potential growth) .Since a serious economic crisis is not excluded in my opinion ,I now plan to : 1) only keep Cies at low risk to become out of business and that should maintain dividends, based on their history and financial strength , and to : 2) sell the other stocks to buy ETF instead..

Wich stocks can be "relatively safely" kept at long term for this purpose ?

Q: These are my holding inside my TFSA. I am 25 years old and would like to know your opinion on this Portfolio and if you think these are good longterm holdings or if they could be replaced with a better investment (please indicate what company you would replace with). Also witch companies would you consider a Buy in 2023 from these holdings for my 6,500$ contribution room.

Q: hi,
I currently own all 3, all with reasonable gains. I read recently that T and BCE have done most of their finer line bailouts, Rogers not so much. this tilts the tables significantly I assume towards T and BCE. I plan to sell Rogers, and add the proceeds to T and BCE. does this sound OK? and do you feel it is ok to have a 5% position in each of T and BCE now? cheers

Q: Hello i'm a long time shareholder of Telus at about 6% of my holdings i'm a little concerned about all the aquiring being done by Telus International, what percent of T earnings are made up of TIXT earnings.Do you like Telus 3-5 year hold here and any concerns with TIXT thanks Greg

Q: I have a son who is 31 and is just beginning his investment journey. He currently is looking to learn and has $15,000 to invest. With the uncertainty in the market he is thinking of investing 1/3 now 1/3 in the first quarter and 1/3 in the 2nd quarter. Is 5 stocks a good start with the intention of monthly contributions in the future to build a diversified over a 20-30 year time horizon. My suggestion was a equal amount to start in Royal Bank, Telus, Brookfield Infrastructure, CN Rail and a REIT.
What do you think of this plan or do you have other suggestions.

Q: Can you provide a 'buy' list for a person wanting to deploy $200,000 (inside RRSP) with the goal of creating 5% or more sustained cash flow - as well as growing the original capital to keep up with inflatiion? We do not have company pensions - this would serve to supplement our government pensions.
Thinking, 20 stocks across all sectors @ $10,000 each (or 5%)
Also could you include 10 growth stocks (inside TFSA) for a total of $250,000 - gotta have some fun ;)
