Q: You've mentioned Boyd as one of your favorites a number of times lately, and I'd like your reasoning. This doesn't appear to be a cheap stock, by any means, with a forward PE of 96 (G&M). Moreover it's in the business of servicing cars which are mostly in their garages and parking spots these days. Is this a forward view to next year, because I am expecting its next quarterly report to be absolutely dreadful.

Q: Hi, Our ACB for LSPD in non Regd account is $32. We have large Capital gains due to BYD conversion. Does it make sense to book capital loss by selling LSPD today and buying back after 30 days. Based on present market conditions and news around COVID-19, do you think it makes sense or there is risk of stock going back higher in 30 days time. Or, i
nstead, doing same exercise with BYD is a better approach. Thanks

Q: I’m so thankful to be able to call on your expertise, perhaps you can give me some guidance. Your service lead me to purchase several thousand shares of Boyd at a price in the teens for which I am great full. With the deemed sale at $202, and sizeable taxable cap gains. Would it be to my advantage to sell shares now at around $137 a share, take the loss, raise some cash for my war chest and repurchase Boyd when I feel comfortable with the economy? You may tell this is a question for my accountant but I would be interested in you take.

Q: Hi group if you were to buy 3 stocks in Canada + 3 in the US today (or would you wait?) regardless of sectors . What stock would you buy /why. Of course it goes without saying that they would be minimally effected by the Covid -19 virus

Q: At today's valuations, if you could invest in one of these today as a good solid longterm investment, which one would it be? Would you still consider BYD and FSV as fairly expensive, even after the recent drop in their respective stock prices?
Thanks.

Q: Hi group what the heck happened with BYD bottom fell out please give new target price to purchase along with explanation. Same with LSPD this is beyond belief. You tell us when to buy some stock but seldom tell us to sell BYD + LSPD a are examples of that. I suggest that you need to start giving out target prices (in a range at least). A lot of these so called blue chips are getting hammered was the low on the DOW + TSX 2 weeks ago or are we going to see more downside?. We need help to rebuild our losses so start to think about target. prices selling + buying . Thanks PS deduct credits as you see fit

Q: Given the current environment, which do you foresee having a good recovery from today's lows. How would you rank these companies listed to purchase today to deploy some cash. Which would you rank this list for risk from high to low. (not considering sector allocation.
Do you have any other recommendations outside of this list that you think might have more potential?

Q: I have a large capital gain on Boyd for the 2020 tax year which I am considering offsetting by taking Capital losses which I have on the above mentioned stocks, including BYD. What is the best way to do this? Sell and wait 30 days to re-buy? Sell now and buy proxies (what would they be?)? I’m also considering using stop losses to take advantage of any increase in stock prices I might otherwise miss. Would appreciate you comments and advice. Michael

Q: Hello 5i, if you had to choose 10 companies out of the USA or Canada for a 5 year hold what would you choose?

There is no need for additional comments, the money isn’t needed in 5 years that’s just a timeframe that should hopefully allow for success vs the virus and recovery economically and adapting to the changed world ( going cashless, online shopping, deliveries, remote work etc) Risk is not an issue and neither is sector diversification. thank you !

Q: Of these 9 equities + ETFS, which would you see as reasonable to hold on to if one believes there is a prospect of recovering from the current economic storm from the virus? Some have been held for a long time are still positive, most are down; TOU is the worst (85% drop) and is now very small. They are held in a registered account, so tax loss selling is not an issue. Thanks for your excellent service.

Q: Wow, Boyd continuing to get crushed. Sure, people may be driving their cars less these days and therefore less car accidents, but once life returns to normal, I can't rally see Boyd's business taking that big of a longterm hit. Down nearly 50% from its ATHs. What are your thoughts why this one got hit so much?

Q: I managed to do well during this down market. I got out early and have put 83% in DOG, 15% in cash and have 2% in TSLA with and avg price of 189.

I am going to slowly start selling some DOG and deploying some cash. Can you recommend 3 to 5 stocks that I can start small positions in. I have a high risk tolerance and a time frame of 10 years or longer.

Thanks in advance.

Q: In light of current market actions and the now widely anticipated economic recession, I am looking for your thoughts on stocks you would buy for long term (10 plus years) and/or forever holds -- Canadian and U.S. names please. I am investing for retirement (within 5 years) but also for our heirs. We have built a portfolio of sleep at night holdings over the past 25 years and just looking to tweak the portfolio. Although we do not like to see these kinds of volatile markets, we also do not get freaked out by them. We have ample cash or near cash always in hand to combat such actions -- something you learn through experience! Thanking you in advance for your answer.
