Q: With respect to the differences between the year end value of BYD.UN and what some brokerage firms have used, I received word from TD that they will be using the price of the shares of BYD when they received the shares not the date when the transaction occurred. TD received the shares on January 8, 2020 and they used the closing price of BYD on January 7, 2020, which was $215.77 vs. the closing price of BYD.UN of $202.00 on December 31, 2019.

Q: As is Mike, the tracker I am using (Morningstar) does not register BYD properly. It is stuck at $202, which is the price of BYD.UN on Dec 31st. I have deleted BYD.UN and put in BYD to no avail. Is anyone using a free tracker that has the correct BYD listing?
Q: Just noticed a question from Michael about having some issues with Google Sheets function pulling quotes for BYD (Boyd Group Services).
I'm having issues too! It is not working for either BYD.UN or BYD. Just to confirm the formula to use is typically:
=GOOGLEFINANCE("exchange:tickersymbol") This is what should work, but is not currently working at the moment:
=GOOGLEFINANCE("TSE:BYD")

Q: Do you expect that BYD will get more attention/investors to drive up the price now that it is listed on TSX?
Q: Since the change with BYD my Google spread sheet has not been able to pull in a quote for Boyd. Just wondering if other members have experienced a problem?
Thanks
Mike

Q: Can you explain why a section 85(1) deferred tax rollover is not available to shareholders of BYD.un?
Q: Hi, here is the email response as received from the CFO of Boyd Group, for clarification about conversion price of units. Hope it's helpful. I now, intend to take it up with my broker.
" At December 31, 2019, the closing price of the Trust Units was $202.00, which could be deemed to represent the fair market value of the BGSI Common Shares on January 1, 2020. This position is not binding on the CRA and we recommend that you consult your tax advisor with respect to the appropriate mechanism of valuing the BGSI Common Shares received pursuant to the Arrangement. Q: Hi the great 5I team, I noticed that BMO investor line had this stock exchanged on Jan 8th. So will the tax gain / loss based on the closing price on that date or one announced by the company? Thank you for the great services. Happy new year.
Q: Following up my Jan.7 question on the official changeover my broker -TD- shows the Jan.8 close of $215.77 as the disposal/acquisition date. Is this correct?
Q: Greetings 5i team,
I am looking to start a position(s) in the following:
- two of STC, GUD, REAL or MMX, and
- four of BYD, MX, CAE, WSP, TRI, GIL, ENGH or BAD
From a quality of investment with a 3-5 yr potential, perspective (not sector nor type of account etc,..) in what order would you make the purchases within each of the two groups?
Thank you for all of your good work

Q: Hi! What will be the tax impact of the conversion from a Trust to a common share?
Q: What is your opinion on UNS. Are there better alternatives
Q: All the best 5i for a great stock year. When will my shares of Boyd Group Income Fund be converted to Boyd Group Services? Thanks. Lorraine
Q: Hello 5I: Just a miscellaneous query. BYD.UN has recently reorganized and has become BYD. Someone here threw out the idea that this company might want to list in the USA and you answered saying there are no such plans known. But if they ever did want to list in the USA, what would they trade under....there already is a USA company with that ticker, "BYD", (Boyd Gaming Corp). Would they have to use a different ticker there? would that cause confusion?
Thank you for your excellent service.

Q: In a TFSA account (growth oriented) would exchange NFI for BYD for a 3 to 5 years time frame? Thank you.
Q: How long after the conversion on Jan.01 can we expect Boyd to be listed on a U.S. exchange?
