Q: Why the sudden market reversal ? With the forecast of 2 or 3 central rate cuts by the Bank of Canada, their value should rise, shouldn’t it ? thank you
Q: Hello,
Thanks for all that you do.
CAP REIT has had a good run and is near my price target of $56. Do you think it still has room to run? If not, would you advise selling and picking up some VRN, or are any other beat up companies looking more attractive (I'm indifferent to the sector, but would prefer to stay away from consumer discretionary).
Thanks!

Q: Hi,
If you were to add to one's existing positions, which order would you add for medium (3 yrs) and long (3-5 yrs) term. All of them have suffered from recent pull back.
Strangely my holdings in USD seem to have suffered more than than the same holdings in CAD. For example VRN/CVE. Is this due to arbitrage trades as you suggested in one of your previous answers to another subscriber? Or due to the vagaries in currency fluctuations?
Lastly, your top picks in O&G today?

Is there one ETF that provides a broad mix of corporate / municipal / provincial / federal, a broad laddering of periods, a mix of risk, a mix of regions, etc? Or would you build it using multiple ETFs that specialize in specific products?

Q: In May 2024 you answered a question rewarding building a portfolio of US stock: Q: Suppose our extraterrestrial friend, Blaarg, seeks to diversify their portfolio by investing in the U.S. market. Which 12-15 top U.S. stocks would you recommend for them over the next decade? Thanks

5i Research Answer:
Here are some of the high-quality US names with moderate risks and reasonable valuations that we think investors could do well by owning a basket of these names over the long term. Although these may not the the best winners, we think these could be considered as compounders such as BKNG, ULTA, AXON, ABNB, UBER, ADBE, FI, ODFL, HEI, AZO, ORLY, ARES.
Would your answer be the same today. If not, what would be your list today? Thanks

-
Boyd Group Services Inc. (BYD $221.96)
Q: Can you please give me your current opinion on Goodfellow potential. Will they be in a position to pay dividend ms in coming year? What is their growth potential in current macro environment of reducing interest rates? How would they compare to your favorite small cap industrial companies? Is it worth investing in at the moment or best left alone for greener pastures?
Q: I am underweight in Materials sector and if I want to add some Uranium exposure. Do you think it has good upside for the near term after the recent pullback? Do you think an ETF like URA is better rather than individual companies like CCO and NXE
Q: Hi - are you aware of Cerebras and that its chips could rival Nvidia? Any views? Thanks
Q: some financial advisors worry about the yield curve predicting difficult economic times to come sometime in the next year or two. Does this play a factor in your market models? Does it suggest caution? I would assume actual company results, earnings growth etc remain primary, but how does one incorporate this type of info without drowning in endless market noise?

Q: I have an online account and a full service account. Do you have a site where I can see the 50/100/200 day moving averages. As well, with respect to the terms that are used by 5i and other analysts such as margins, cashflow, etc. can you tell me where I can find information about these type of terms? Thank you.

Q: Retired dividend income investors. We prioritize asset allocation in all of our portfolio decisions. We plan on capturing some income tax savings by selling the remaining shares of my wife's BNS, thereby offsetting other capital gains. I need to replace these funds in the same sector...ie: financials.
She leans more on the conservative side. Combined, we already have a full position in RY and other financials contained within ZLB, CDZ, ZWC, as well as AD.UN.
In the current declining interest rate environment, does HMAX fit the bill? As interest rates decline, what impact will this have on the share price? Should I assume that the capital appreciation will be fairly minimal, while the dividend maintains roughly where it is now?
I appreciate your help...as always.
Steve

Q: A major downgrade on this stock in the last day or 2 and quite a hit to the price as well when you consider most AI stocks appear to be on their way back up. Karl Ackerman is citing over supply of their memory chips which if lower prices result he would adjust his target price lower yet. Do you think this is accurate information, or perhaps almost like a short report. Can you go over their recent sales, EPS metrics and outlook? Please advise if you would buy this and if so at what price. Thank you.

Q: Hi - It's been a while since someone asked about EBAY, so was wondering what your current thoughts are?
Q: What are your thoughts on this company. I noticed it went down to $87.00 US for the second time and now it is starting to slowly climb. Is this a stock you feel one should be purchasing. What are to projections for 2025. Again thank you for your service and good work.
