Can you please comment on Kraken's most recent acquisition from a competitive point of view, ie does this place them more of a leader in their segment or simply adds to their offerings and maybe is more of a one stop shop?
I have owned the stock for about 4 years now and it's become a meaningful position.

Q: Hi group the above stocks i sold 1/2 of my folio about 3 months ago/ yes at a tidy profit. My question is I am 75 years old and have $100,000 to reinvest (20% of my total portfolio)...(dry power) i do not need any cash to supplement my income for at least 5 years unless the market falls of a cliff because of Trump/Tariffs. I would say I am a sleep at night investor So the question is what to do now wait or start nibbling now. These stocks make up about 70% of the total portfolio

Q: I still have trouble with market response to interest rates. Assuming Bank of Canada cuts lending rates further by the end of the year.

What is the expected effect on dividend paying stocks like Canadian banks, utilities and telecoms? What other factors could affect those sectors or is interest rate the key determinant?

Q: What do you think the odds are of Canada throwing in their trump card in the tariff wars and adding a 10% export tax on the 4 mbpd of oil sent to the states (~20% of their entire consumption)? This would likely spike the world price a lot and not reduce Canadian exports at least in the short term. Would this be a huge "win" for Suncor and other Candian oil stocks?

I’m following up on recent questions about taxation of the ETF VEQT (and similar) in an RRSP.

I am a bit confused about what withholding taxes might apply to VEQT. I have three questions please.

1) Would you be so kind at to explain what withholding taxes apply to VEQT in an RRSP?

2) If there are non-recoverable withholding taxes on VEQT in an RRSP, can they be quantified?

3) Finally, if there are withholding taxes applicable to VEQT in an RRSP, is there an ETF setup with the same diversification objective as VEQT that is more tax efficient in an RRSP?

Q: I am getting “twitchy” on Premium Brands ahead of them reporting on March 21st (a Friday, but reporting before markets open?). Can you give me an idea of how often they have beat expectations in the past and how the share price has reacted historically as well? I know it is asking for crystal ball gazing but can you make an educated/experienced guess about what you expect?

Q: Earnings look ok to me... but here we are down 6%. Is there anything in the earnings that disappoint or is this drop all about the scary market jitters?
