Q: Iam McGugan's G&M article on factor based investing mentioned quality based stocks. Can you name a few in Canada and the US and how would you filter for these types of stocks in a search?
Q: Hi. My stock in a company has gone to zero. What documentation do I need to claim the capital loss, and how do I get that? I invest online with my bank. Nothing is available in with the usual tax documents.
Q: Hi 5i,
Can I please ask your opinion on Prime Mining? I’m trying to understand if recent movement is general sector strength, or the business improving.
Q: Exchange Income seems to continue to be a favorite of yours. I would like to invest in the company but fear I lack the confidence to hold on to it in a major market downturn. I would appreciate it if would explain why you believe the company is strong enough to continue to do comparatively well in a major economic pull back.
Q: Good afternoon, it's been some time since I rebalanced my portfolio, and I'm wondering if I could get an update on how you would weight the various sectors on the TSX at this point in time.
Thanks
Q: Hello : Sometime back I asked about AAV and decided to keep my shares but now the company continues to decline and I ask if you consider this company a keeper or time to sell. Thank you Barbara

Q: What is your current opinion of high yield US corporate bond ETFs, such as XHY and ZHY. Specifically, do you recommend them in the current economic environment for a relatively conservative income portfolio?
Many Thanks.
I do not believe in technical analysis, however, from a technical analysis perspective, what would be a great entry point in the next three to six months to purchase shares of SPY, QQQ and XIC? What is the likelihood of these great entry points happening in the next three to six months?
Q: Over the next few months I’ll be duplicating the ETFMU Growth ETF portfolio inside my LIRA with retirement being 30 years away.
Out of the 13 ETFs in the portfolio , Which ones do you feel are a strong buy currently? Wanting to start purchasing the strong buys, highest convictions ETFs first.
1) what is your opinion of the long term viability of this company?
2) do you have any other companies in mind that would be competitors (direct or indirect)
3) are you familiar with other well run electrical/ component/ grid/ transmission companies that are leading in the drive towards the inevitable electrification of the world?
Q: If one were to sell Magna but still wanted to stay in the industrial sector would you endorse moving into CPR at this time (allowing for giving up some dividend income)? CPR share price has gone pretty parabolic in the last 5 years or so relative to their long term history, do you think the valuation has gotten ahead of itself?
In spite of its smaller size I was interested in ATS but after the unexplained drop last week on higher volume I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop. I don’t mean to editorialize but I can’t count the number of times in recent years when unexplained drops suddenly become clear in the days and weeks that follow. It’s just a personal opinion but I really feel ethics aren’t what they once were, and whether it is an insider, a printer, or someone else “in the know”, it seems information gets leaked and unlike years ago there is now a variety of means (like social media) for that info to spread quickly and widely. End of rant.
Q: Hi folks,
I am looking to add 3 of CSU, AAPL, MSFT, GOOGL or VISA for some growth to my otherwise conservative RRSP portfolio. May I have your 3 recommendations that could add some "zip" to my RRSP account. Looking at a 10 year time frame.
Thanks,
