Q: Curious about how 5i adjusts their individual stock allocation in the portfolios. Do you annually take a broad look and make adjustments or do you just clip a stock if it becomes overvalued or to much within the portfolio. With the new money do you add to another stock or put the proceeds in cash.
Q: KITS is doing nicely but has a PE of 155 which is way above my comfort level. So it should come down and I plan to wait for a while. It is also consumer oriented and has likely benefited from peak seasonal trends. What sort of forward PE and growth would you look for?
Q: If I do an in-kind transfer of a security from a non-registered account to my TFSA, and the security is at a loss, is there any way to eventually capture the capital loss, such as when the security is sold within the TFSA. Or is the capital loss gone forever?
Season's Greetings! Many thanks for all the words of wisdom. I am an "old man" and I have been part of many "services" like this. BUT Peter has put together a "different" team. I believe yours is a team that combines the "Art and Science" of investing very well with integrity. Bravo and Best wishes.
Question for the team: Hope this is not too "intrusive"!
What do you plan to buy with your TFSA contribution of 7000$ in 2026?!
Q: CLS: heading down - still very high P.E., very high price to C.F. etc. Selling due in part to profit taking for year-end? Lofty price going into 2026 of $600.00 per share? Buy for TFSA 100 shares? Risk vs potential as I do not follow this one and know very little about tech.
Q: Hi, I’m looking to create a portfolio of dividend growth stocks split over Canada and Us stocks with 10-12 names. Can you make a recommendation on the names you would use?
Q: GWO has done extremely well this year, up over 40%, while MFC is up over 11%. SLF, though, has lagged, down about 1.5% over the past year. What explains the wide gulf in their stock performance?
The last question/answer about MEQ was in June. There was something about it on
BNN Bloomberg, and I'm interested in your thoughts. You earlier (June) mentioned debt, but that it's also a potential strong compounder.
I'm interested in your thoughts. A possible purchase today? As well as reasons why or why not, please.
Q: Reported U.S. core inflation is 2.7% for November and the trend appears to be downward. I think you have expressed the view that tariffs are inflationary. Given these numbers, would you be revising your opinion on this matter?
Q: Hello, Please provide some thoughts around the Dream Industrial REIT Strategic Partnership With CPP announced Dec 17, 2025. Would you expect this to be a catalyst towards a bullish run for DIR.UN? Thanks.
Q: I was curious about the Private real estate investments. I have seen companies like EQUITON who advertise returns of 16 -20% annual on their development offering. Do they have good track record? Is that rate of return possible? Are they too risky for retail investor?
Q: I would like to start a position in NFLX using a weekly, fractional buy strategy. Should I be buying the actual shares in USD or should I focus on the Canadian Deposit Receipts? What are the advantages/disadvantages of each?
Q: Hi 5i Team - I've become interested in a cyber security company called Cohere Technology. The Canadian Government, Bell Canada and RBC have all committed to using Cohere's solutions in their cyber security defense efforts. Also the Canadian Government has planned to invest in this company.
It looks like Cohere is a private company. Do you know of any publicly traded company that has invested in Cohere or are there possible plans for an IPO. Or is there any other way for a small retail investor to get involved.
Thanks.
Q: Hi, can you enlighten me regarding the Japanese carry trade situation? I am reading, but not fully understanding the effect of the Japanese government possibly raising interest rates - maybe soon. Is it possible this is a concern for traders globally if they or their large funds are heavily hedged using the Yen vs USD? I'm concerned this may be why there seems to be a rotation out of tech, even though the idea of continued AI spending seems likely into the next year. You always seem to be able to put these things into perspectve - thank you.

Q: I am looking to start a position in copper mining within my TFSA. What company would you suggest based upon prospects for future growth? I am currently 62 years old and I am investing money I will not need for a long while. I prefer to invest in companies that are making money or are about to start making money. Thanks in advance.
