Q: Hi! I would like to build a portfolio of 20 stocks that include both Canadian and US holdings that contain a mix of growth and defensive names with a stronger weighting to growth(say 70%/30% growth to safety). What names would yo allocate to create the portfolio. Thanks very much.

Q: Is there a Canadian listed Canadian dollar ETF that holds many of your USA favourite companies: NVDA, VEEV, DOC, MSFT, AMZN etc, etc.
If not is there a US ETF that holds a concentration of some of your favourite companies? Not just a sector ETF, but more focused on your favourites. Currently I'm only invested in Canada, and I want to invest, starting small, in some of the USA companies you are recommending, but, if possible with a bit of diversification.

Or if nothing exists, maybe I should just pick two, say NVDA and VEEV and invest in those in US dollars? Would those two be top of the list? It is for a small amount, about 5% of my portfolio.

Q: Sorry for asking about two US companies but I've noticed you're bullish on VEEV and recently SLP showed up in one of your responses.

Are these not similar companies? Briefly, what differentiates therm, and do you have a preference? Would you own both?

Q: I have essentially equal holdings in these mega caps and other US and Canadian techs listed. For a new additional tech investment, any thoughts on the best addition? Would you recommend more to an index?

Q: Hi 5i Team - In your answer to a previous question you referred to the meteoric rise of Shopify as a pretty unique company where things came together at the right time. Do you see another company in its fairly early stages that might be in the same situation that Shopify was two or three years ago (and still is). This company does not have to be in the tech field - any category is good. If you have ideas for more than one company that fits this description that's fine too. Thanks!

Q: I am negative on subject three U.S. companies (FSLY, TWLO, ISRG) While these companies may be good growth companies if held long enough, I would appreciate your suggestions of several U.S. and Canadian companies that are likely to have more near term growth, any market segment and I have much risk tolerance. Q: For the above technology companies there has been a huge pullback even though some have beaten nicely on earnings. Is this a buying opportunity for them or wait and see where the NASDAQ settles out before putting new money in. What is the reason for the pullback. Typical profit taking before Labour Day? Let’s say the S&P500 decreases by -15% from its high earlier this week over the next few days or weeks for no specific reason other than stretch valuations, COVID, elections and fiscale stimulus uncertainties. Q: My 27 yo son has just had $36k CAD deposited into his LIRA. His portfolio is reasonably balanced, so don't let sector influence your response. I intend to convert some or all of it into USD using Norberts. I would like to invest in 3 or 4 stocks that in 30 - 35 years will be like investing in Apple 30 years ago. I have done well and held back 30% in cash after adding In a fair bit with the top picks you mentioned in the March /April special report (thank you )and I feel comfortable to add another 15 % To 20 % in.
