Q: I have funds to put towards an aggressive attempt at obtaining an average 20% annual return over the next 3-5 years (own CSU, NVDA, GOOG, BN and few others with such potential). Not looking for a detailed analyses or commentary, but do any of these choices seem to be unlikely candidates for the desired outcome - ADBE, INTU, WIRE/ATK combo, HEI/TDG combo, ZTS, BX, LVMUY?
Q: According to your company statistics page, CAR’s 3 and 5 year dividend growth rate was -100 and -66 respectively. Does that mean they significantly cut their dividend at some point in the last 3 years and, if so, was there a particular catalyst that drove them to do that? Assuming I am reading the information on the statistics correctly, what are your thoughts on the reliability of CAR’s dividend in the medium term? Contrarily, how likely is it that the dividend growth rate will accelerate once interest rates start to fall, say to catch the company up to where the dividend per unit was before the cut?
Q: I have been holding ENB and PPL for over 5 yrs. The dividends are great but the stocks are not going anywhere. Down 15%. Would like to sell one of them and buy IMO. Have full position on both of them. Which one should I sell?
Q: This morning, Opsens received a takeover offer from Haemonetics. Do you think there's any potential for other bidders to offer more than the current $2.90 cash offer?
Q: My son, 25, recently married and working in USA, has just begun contributing to ROTH IRA matched by employer and looking for advice on on initiating investment in top 4-6 etf's to achieve long term gains with appropriate market diversification. Also, could you please suggest weightings for each considering moderate to high risk tolerance? Thanks so much. Tony
Q: I am trying to construct a barbell style Canadian portfolio. Can you name 5-6 growth names you favour and 5-6 defensive names that I might be able to build this with ?
Q: For industrials, currently hold TFII, ATS, TRI. In that order of weighting. Also have WSP, NVEE, AXON on my watchlist.
I'm happy just sticking with 3, but 5-6 is great if they may improve my performance or diversification (if the new companies are similar quality).
If it was you, would you add more to the 3 holdings, or add one of the others? How would you rank the 6 names as far as quality and resiliance of the companies go?
If I were to inadvertently trigger the superficial loss rule by selling a security in my wife's cash account, and then forgetfully buying that same security back in my LIRA say 15 days later, would the CRA automatically catch it? Or would they only catch it through an audit? Or should it be self-reported? Just want to better understand how to rectify the error.
Q: Hi, I’m a little overweight in these sectors, and thinking about selling one, and adding XIU or ZCN for diversity and dividend.
Which would you sell ( T or Becp) and which would you add ( XIU or ZCN) for a long term hold. thanks.
Q: These names have been underperforming in my portfolio for some time now. Do you believe they remain attractive from these levels or are there more compelling names out there?
Q: How material is today's Suncor news? : "Suncor Energy (TSX: SU) (NYSE: SU) announced today that it has agreed to purchase TotalEnergies EP Canada Ltd., which holds a 31.23% working interest in the Fort Hills oil sands mining project (Fort Hills) for $1.468 billion". Will it have a positive effect on the stock? Thank you
