Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: I have 1/2 of position in STN, and and 1/4 position in WSP. I am down about 2-3% on STN. I am fine with both, but was wondering if I should consolidate to WSP. Two reasons, reduce stocks I own get more concentrated portfolio, and get more significant position in one Engineering company.

Q: Q 2 2016
Net revenues
Net revenues are defined as revenues less direct costs for sub-consultants and other direct expenses
that are recoverable directly from the clients. Net revenues are not an IFRS measure and do not have
a standardized definition within IFRS. Therefore, net revenues may not be comparable to similar
measures presented by other issuers. Investors are advised that net revenues should not be construed
as an alternative to revenues for the period (as determined in accordance with IFRS) as an indicator of
the Corporation’s performance.

For WSP this is a very large number 330 million $ +.. is this typical in the engineering business and is it
variable ? With 34000+ employees why do they need sub-consultants ? and overall
is WSP seriously exposed to wage inflation ?

A lot of questions here, Thank you,

Ian

Q: Do all above companies fall under Industrial? My total weight is 13% Is this too high? I feel that I have too many companies in this sector and may be better to have only 4-5? STN and WSP are similar so would it be better to sell one of these and add to the names that are listed. I am also thinking of selling ET and taking the proceeds to add to the other names now leaving me with 5. Is this a good approach?

Thanks
Dolores

Q: I see that the public sector is entering a growth phase, what would be your top 5 public sector dept picks for an aggressive growth portfolio?
I'm thinking that Health would be a 'no brainer' replacement for condordia, oh but wait...the grey tsunami...so would that be a long or short position.
Cheers and happy Friday

Q: I need to increase my weighting in the "Technology" space and currently own equal weightings of AVO, MDA, OTC, SYZ and WSP. With $50K to spend, would you buy a new company (I am thinking DH Corp or whatever div paying company you recommend) OR would you just increase your stake in one or more of these currently owned companies. I know you have WSP and DH as "Industrials" but can it not be argued that they are "Tech"?
