I’m thinking of doing some tax loss selling. Can you suggest proxies for the following companies: Roku, Trade Desk, Twilio, Unity Software and Zoom Video.

Would you also be able to suggest an ETF that would serve as a proxie for all of them? I’m thinking of a high-growth-stock ETF like the SPYG.

I'm down considerably in these US stocks in a taxable account: APPS, DIS, DXCM, EXPI, FB, NET, NFLX, U, and UPST.

I would like to crystallize some losses.

Could you please suggest:

1. The stocks I should sell outright (and suggest a replacement);

2. The stocks I should sell and then re-buy in 30 days (and suggest a proxy); and

3. The stocks I should continue to hold.

Feel free to subtract as many credits as required.

Q: I am down on the following stocks and wondering if i should sell so i can claim the loss on my losing positions % + loss as follows LSPD- 55%, NFLX - 59%, SHOP -47%, NVEI -45%, GSY-47%, KXS - 28%, GM - 39%, TFII - 24%, PFE - 16%. Do you put any weight at all on takeover rumours? This morning a Seeking Alpha article said that ROKU employees had a cease trading order put on them internally in the past couple of days. NFLX is rumoured to be circling. What do you think is the likelihood here?

Q: It looks to me that some good stocks are being thrownout because of fear if you agree which stocks are good buys,not only technologies but others too.

Q: In other answers I see that you are recommending tax loss selling. My positions in PYPL and ROKU are down about 50% and they're large enough that the tax loss would definitely benefit me. However, I'm worried about selling them because I feel like if the market improves, they could bounce back to the point where my benefit from the tax loss is nullified by the missed bounce until I can re-buy after 30 days. (For reference, if they bounce back to their early April prices, that would outweigh my benefit from the tax loss).

On the other hand, I think both are attractive at today's prices so if I don't sell for a tax loss I would probably add a bit to both positions.

Do you like PYPL and ROKU at today's prices (to add to current positions) or do you think they're better targets for tax-loss selling and re-buying in 30 days?

Q: Down significantly on these names, wondering at these level if you would still hold on for a better market, if so which ones or swap them out for other stocks that are down and may have a better chance to recover.

Q: Thoughts on these quarterly results? Do you still like the long term prospects of these three growth companies?

In general, what are your thoughts on holding growthier names in this current market? It just seems that the risk of holding these positions through earnings outweighs the benefits. For example, if a company meets expectations and maintains guidance, the stock barely moves. However, any miss or lower guidance and the stock easily gets crushed 30-50%, such as NFLX, FB, UPST, RBLX, COIN, etc... Seems a lot of companies are issuing lower guidance because of all the uncertainties. Wouldn't it be better or more prudent to just sell or maybe trim the positions to reflect these risks and re-enter later?

Other growth names I have on deck soon are GSY, WELL, AT, EGLX, LSPD, NVDA, APPS, and CRWD and I'm worried about how investors will react to earnings. Thanks!

Q: These 2 darlings are now ugly ducklings. Not long ago,Shop was the biggest company in Canada overtaking perrinnel leader,RY. Recent drastic drop from $2228 H to $658,1year Low.Any reasons for the 14% haircut today besides news that it is in talks to buy startup,Deliverr. Think market does not like this type of acquistion nowadays as it will likely increase its losses & prolong its plan to profitability in this market backdrop.Is this a entry point or more pain to come.
