Q: Hello 5i and we wish all the best in the holidays for you.
We plan to buy a tech stock. We are retired and conservative, although with a certain percentage of some safer growth stocks.
We are impressed that Warren Buffett ventured into the tech field by buying Apple and wonder whether we should follow suit.
But we are also looking at Google and are wondering whether it may have a better future.
We would appreciate your thoughts on which one you think might be the best buy right now.
thanks
Q: I would like to add some US technology growth stocks to my portfolio for the long term. Would you prefer Facebook or Google and, if the latter, GOOG or GOOGL? Or perhaps another name?
Thanks,
Ted
Q: With all the cord cutting going on and quite a few people moving to streaming services (google box etc) how would this effect the cable companies.
And is there any company we can profit from in the streaming business.
Q: Hey team, I've decided to add these two stocks to my portfolio as long-term investments. My one hesitation is with timing. As both are sitting around all time highs right now, would you suggest holding off for a couple months to see if they decline, or would you go ahead and pull the trigger? In a perfect world I'd like to pick these up around $700/share.
Q: I feel as if I have owned Apple forever! I am now down 20% on the stock and just about ready to throw in the towel. Can you suggest a replacement in the same space with more growth potential? SIMO perhaps, which you have recommended before?
Q: The stock prices for these two are $14 apart. I know one is voting shares, but is there any other difference? Which of these two do you prefer and do you recommend it for a long-term hold? Thanks.
Q: Are there any companies/organizations in the Artificial Intelligence sector that 5i believes are good long-term investment opportunities; perhaps focusing application to diagnostic medicine. (Not so interested in driver-less cars, but believe that there must be tremendous long-term plays for companies perfecting diagnostic tools, for example.)
Thanks for your excellent investment analysis.
Q: Hello 5i.
Would you please consider the following as recommend a company or two that may fit the bill?
I have been looking at the tech stocks run up in USA but not yet joined the ride. I do believe FB, Amazon and Google are super companies and stocks but can not seem to pull the trigger given high price and buying in US$.
Is there a Tech stock worth purchasing that would sub for these US juggernauts(business growth and price appreciation) - Or do I just move on Google or Amazon?
Does TIO fit the bill given its high score as one of Canada's fastest growing companies?
Q: Where to go now, NHC has done me wrong, should I just get out. I know you don't really like it, do you have an opinion going forward, where to head.
I feel the U.S. may be better than Canada for a while. I am thinking of buying SHW-COST-GOOGL notwithstanding they are all in different spaces, where would you put your money. I kinda favor SHW because it seems to have good 3rd and 4th quarters, more paint sold no doubt. Now the last last question, I own WSP and it is down somewhat, should I perhaps switch over to SNC. Thank you
What do you think about Facebook plans to actually split their shares and to introduce new classes of shares? Are there some potential concerns for class A shares owners? Thank you for advice!
Q: Why is GOOGL dropping today? Is it because of AAPL? I have heard conflicting views on owning GOOG and GOOGL. GOOG is cheaper and a few votes do not make a difference. GOOG is a stock that will be used to fund acquisitions so it will be diluted? Thanks.
