Q: What to do with $10864 in TFSA? At 74 years I exist on a public sector DB pension.
Transitioning my TFSA to be more growth focused. 14 holdings currently, major ones being BN, TRI, TFII, TVK, KXS, TOI, EQB, LMN, DSG, PNG, DRX, REAL, S, EGLX. Also have 41 equities in much larger balanced dividend growth non-reg account but Brookfield Group is pushing 15% of total portfolio with overall 65% Canada exposure. Overall below sector targets in consumer cycle, health, RE, Industrial, Utilities as well as International exposure.
Realizing you cannot get personal but I am looking for another viewpoint on how to use the funds in TFSA this year besides adding more Brookfield or software or financials. With available funds could only add 4 units of CSU anyway.
Q: Can you provide your 5 top Canadian growth companies (in order) along with where (price) you think they might be a year from now and 2 years from now. For each one, please provide a quick note on what makes each company so compelling and rate each with a confidence indicator (10 highest). I understand these are your best assessments of things at this time.
Q: I have yet to purchase these equities for my portfolio. With only upside potential/recovery out of the gate as the only criteria, in what order would you add them. I do have a tendency to hold for quite a while.
Q: I sold for tax loss ENGH, EQB, GLXY, MDA, NPI over 30 days ago and contemplating buying them back. Do you think that they have a good opportunity to increase in value in 2026. If so, which order would you purchases them in.
Q: What are your top 10 Canadian medium caps. Please put your response in the order you would buy them for the largest total gain (dividend and capital gain) over the next two years.
Q: Not a question but an observation. Interesting times with the smaller Canadian banks and other financial firms. Stephen Smith selling First National and then his Fairstone buying LB. Then EQB ( which he has a position in ) getting involved with the Weston’s PC Financial. Then there is the Desmarais family and Wealthsimple.
With the buyout of LB at $40.50, which will occur Q3 2026 and current share price around $39.90, is it better to sell or to wait out the nine months to closing and collect 3 x $0.47 dividend plus sale price equal to $41.91.
Second, if I was to sell today, which would be the best purchase:
EQB
GSY
PRL
or allocate one third of the sales proceeds to each?
I'm trying to help my daughter (who is in her late 20s) with her portfolio which is a bit difficult because she is morally opposed to several lines of business (crypto, oil/gas, AI, defence to name a few) however I did notice she doesn't have any major CA bank equities at the moment. Some of my co-workers use a different research company who I think recently advised their clients to sell TD. I didn't see any recent questions on here about the CA banks lately so could you please tell me what your preferred bank is at this time (regardless whether I listed it or not.) It will be for a long term hold in her FHSA.
Q: Good morning, If needing to raise a little cash, which TWO of these stocks would you consider selling given current markets: TVK, ATD, GRID, EQB, GLXY, CLBT, NXE or AXON?
Q: I'm looking at adding a dividend-paying company in the financial sector, which is not one of the traditional banks. Which of these two businesses might you suggest has a better chance to outperform the market, over the longterm?
Q: hi, can I get your current top 5 Canadian growth stocks for a TFSA today. And could I get your top 5 "beaten down of late" Canadian stocks that you feel have the best potential for a recovery in the next 1-6 months. cheers and thanks and take as many points as you need...
Chris
Q: I currently only own TD, X and EQB in my RRSP. I would like to sell EQB and thinking of buying BN. Is this a good replacement stock or is there a better financial stock you like at this time. Money not needed for 20 years.
